Re: Atari 1040 Ste prices ?

Since some musicians rediscovered it maybe? Wanting to go oldschool and try things with low latency midi?
And maybe with some retro-gamers mixing in (ahah).

Re: Cable adapter to use a VGA monitor with Atari 1040 Ste

Yes, this monitor isn't listed in the 15khz compatible monitors wiki: http://15khz.wikidot.com/ (if this is a reliable and complete list) If you want to use it for mono resolution, O.Gossuin got " ATARI Monochrome to VGA ADAPTOR with Audio output " for sale. But if it is actually 15khz compatible, o...

Re: Kid friendly ST games

Funny, back in the 90's i knew a family where the kids couldn't play Prince of Persia, because it was too violent. I think the "fall on spikes" death was part of this decision. ;) Also controls in this game aren't the most easy, imo. :D But well, it's a great game, so if they are and you are okay wi...

You could post a list of the titles in the "For sale / Wanted" section of the forum here.
Some people here would probably be interested in buying those.

Re: Native hard drive installable games

Do you mean harddrive installable on their original commercial release?
There weren't much, and i never saw a list of those.

But if you mean any harddrive installable game (even those patched for this),
Reylan pointed you to the biggest work done for this.

Re: soundtracker songs

Then yes ModArchive is an interesting massive archive. Notice that it covers many tracker formats, so including .mod, but not only. And you can browse it with a .mod filter (just discovered that): Search *.* with "MOD" filter activated (click on "Show filters" and select "MOD" File Format). You also...

Re: New YM tracker: TTRAK

Yes i tried it, made a few instruments and patterns. It features different approaches on timer based modulations. Also the "FM" modulation explained in the tutorial is new to ST chiptrackers. There's instrument chaining. You can also set up a "compressor" styled global volume impact on an instrument...

Re: New YM tracker: TTRAK

Yes it's a great ST chiptracker, with a really interesting and advanced instrument editor!
And also already quite usable, though it's still a beta version for now.
The coder is working on it toward a final version.

Re: Recording audio

OK your monitor got a SCART input. So here it would your "ST video out port to SCART" cable that could be modified, to have the audio coming from the ST video out port to some audio RCA or jack. You can see here the pin 1 which provides audio out (in mono): http://info-coach.fr/atari/hardware/interf...

Whack A Virus!

Yes Crew released a little Whack a Mole game last week-end at Sommarhack 2020. Particularity of this game is that it runs in ST monochrome mode (640*400)! https://i.imgur.com/QAxrzN2.png https://i.imgur.com/XXnEYiL.png Party release version is downloadable here: https://demozoo.org/productions/28021...

Re: Recording audio

I use some M-Audio device, a (now old) "Firewire Audiophile" external soundcard plugged on a PC. Quality is quite fine with it.
I record from ST or STe, depending if the track uses STe DMA or not, in mono, using one of the SC1435 video/audio monitor cable RCA plug.
