Nobody makes anything.
Well, tell a lie, exxos makes overclocked CPU boards, but they don't have any ram on them because he's scared of that for some reason, so they're useless.

Re: RAM upgrade for a Mega STe?
It's a big frustration for me. I like my MegaSTE very much, but with upgrades like nova graphics, gdos, magic etc, very little ram is left

Re: Floppy drive replacement (expanding the theme).
Do you think the alignment of the screws in a photograph is decisive? Yes because you use the screws to attach it to the computer. It is, as said above, the unchangeable constant. Unless you drill through your motherboard. I think that the rest of your post is not worth duplicating in a quote, it i...

Re: Floppy drive replacement (expanding the theme).
Haha you just put two drives on the table and took a photo. Wow genius of the year here. Look where the mounting holes are. Line them up using that. Then try again. Lo-and-behold the ST bezel will extend further out. https://i.postimg.cc/CK6t0cv4/IMG-20190313-053408.jpg If you don't line up mounting...

Re: Floppy drive replacement (expanding the theme).
You show PC floppy drive as being longer, but that isn't true. My experience is that the metal case of the Atari drives is shorter than the typical PC drive. And that makes perfect sense, if they weren't shorter it would be very difficult to have a bezel that's almost twice as thick as the typical ...

Re: Floppy drive replacement (expanding the theme).
I don't think your diagram is accurate. You show PC floppy drive as being longer, but that isn't true. ST drive is longer because of it's faceplate sticks out through the case hole. In your photo we see PC drive faceplate is flat and stays totally within the atari case using same screw location. You...

Well I guess I'll buy one then. Might actually put my falcon to use. How many have been made for the next batch?

now CT60e comes without a CPU, so... where are people supposed to get one? Chinese ebay sellers are full of fakes.

If it can do all that stuff then tell the programs for it. Can't do it without software.

Re: What can I actually do with this thing?
I'm basically asking what is actually impressive or interesting falcon software? I found ace tracker, I guess. this reads like poor quality trolling. https://i.postimg.cc/g2xHn6qK/IMG-20181023-174624-1.jpg I asked a simple question, what can I do with my falcon. Just looked that monitor up, strange that apparently it works at 15Khz but they only list the usual 31Khz+ in the spec sheet

Re: What can I actually do with this thing?
I've already got the vga adapter from exxos shop that can do all the blowup stuff, not bothered to use it because standard 256 colour vga seems slow enough already. Best won't sell anything to me unless it's in QTY 10 or more because they claim international postage is too much effort. I learned tha...

What can I actually do with this thing?
Okay so I've got a falcon here. 14Mb, big compact flash card, and an FPU. What's it for, really? I can't figure out what I should do with it. It's got a crap keyboard, so I'd rather use my Mega for any stuff that involves typing. It doesn't run most ST games, even the supposedly falcon fixed ones, e...

What you're looking for is a SCART cable from the ST and a good SCART-HDMI converter box. I don't know whats good one of those, maybe forums of TV nerds can tell you.

Making it digital would've been more expensive. SM series monitors have separate brightness/contrast control for this reason, useless in ST Mono but they were trying to future proof.

Re: Falcon Nova Adapter ...
4MB in MegaSTE with your nova adapter already annoying, hard disk driver, novavdi, gdos, some .acc = 2.4mb left
But in falcon just cruel. All that power and no ram. So an interesting but pointless development.

Thanks for suggestions, all. Going to try them all out, see what I like best. Just opened Vision, seems nice, familiar to me from using MS paint - just confused how to zoom out again after zooming in.

Paint program that runs in gem/with graphics card
Got myself a nova setup and want something to put its 256 colours to work. Having trouble finding any paint programs that aren't locked to ST LOW.
Any suggestions?

I wouldn't have bothered recapping the main board without also doing the power supply, to be honest.

Ah the man himself! I suppose that answers that question. Bigger question now is how such cards interact with NVDI, it gives option to choose them when installing, but is it actually doing any VDI speedup with them, or just falling back to acting as a GDOS?

Count yourself lucky, the power LED on mine doesn't even work anymore. But I don't remember it being particularly bright.
At least it's not like STFMs where every time you open one up you find a different patch wire.
