Re: New Firmware, FPGA Configuration and FireTOS
You may try BOOTCONF 1.32. On my FB, It loads fine in 68K EMU (and yes, 2.01 crashes with an illegal error). If EmuTOS comes up fine, you could run an NVRAM setter (like Uwe Seimet's BOOTCONF that runs fine with Vincent's m68kemu). I tried this solution but I get an illegal instruction when running ...

Re: Firebee MIDI status
Tested again in FireTOS. I can’t replicate the issues you experienced. The only problem I found are the dialers of settings (tempo, etc) that scroll the values too fast and need to be slowed down in the code. The record option also works and save a .mid file . Is mmouse similar to Midisquare by Dave...

Re: Firebee MIDI status
Hi, Thanks. Didn't tested in EmuTOS. Midsq2 C sources (gcc 2.95.3) are included in the archive. I guess should be possible to fix problems and build a Coldifire Native version. I'll test again in FireTOS if I can replicate the odd keypress behaviour.. Is mmouse similar to Midisquare by Dave Snow ? M...

Re: Firebee MIDI status
Hi, Any electronic musical instrument with a midi interface (DIN connector) should be able to communicate with the FireBee (Just like any other Ataris, as an internal virtual synth mapped to Midi OUT is not available). To play easily most MIDI files you need a musical instrument (device) at least co...

Re: zView 1.0.2 released
Hi Torsten, Thank you for this new release of zView. I tested on the FireBee the v4e and 000 builds (both 1.02 distribution and 19135 snapshot): PDF, IMG, TIF & GIF images are loaded correctly. The 000 build works correctly on the FireBee (although really slow at loading imgs). A few issues with the...

No, you need an external MIDI device. The few midi players with sound support available on the Atari platform (PH Player, EPSS.. ) doesn't run on the FB.

Re: Firebee MIDI status
Attached the KARA4TOS archive. FYI, I found it in a floppyshop disk (FALC-5370). KARA4TOS It is a MID and KAR TTP player. To run it in EmuTOS, copy the 68KEMU.PRG (from FireBee setup) to the KARA4TOS folder and rename it to 68KEMU.TTP. Run 68KEMU.TTP and pass as a parameter: KARA4TOS.TTP FILENAME.MI...

Re: Magic OS and midi
From memory, Cubase fails badly on Magic. But I recall being able to run Cubase 3 ontop Geneva/Neodesk on a MSTE4. The system was stable enough, good timings, with some delay when switching the active app. My suggestion is to run Cubase always in a clean TOS4 environment (apart a VDI accelerator).

From the symptoms, you might have a test version of FireTOS with fixed screen resolution. When you boot, Do you have a "patch # by.... " line before the FireTOS version line ?

Yes. On the FireBee, Papyrus X crashes when you create a new table (same for Papyrus 7 and Papyrus8) but it is possible to load documents containing tables. In Papyrus Gold 5.15 (Hisoft) tables work fine, but It crashes while typing on a page and at loading documents. Finally Papyrus 5.55A handles t...
