Hello all. I haven't been to this site in a long time!
I love games like Rouge, and Sword of Fargoal on the C64.
Could you suggest games similar to these for the ST?
Thanks!

Re: HELP!!! UltraSatan Bricked!!
Is the new 1.13 firware OK to use with the older top/bottom ultrasatan?
I updated my Lotharek model with no troubles but kept my older black box model how it is because I wasn't sure the update was OK to install on it.

Thank you Jookie.
I updated my Lotharek US with no troubles.
Should I do the same to my older Zaxon build UltraSatan?

Re: Ultrasatan invisible files
I haven't seen that in a long time. I think it has to do with long file names. If you 100% avoid putting any long file name files on the card you shouldn't see it. Stick to the 8.3 format. A good way to get rid of these entries is to copy everything to another card/partition choosing SKIP when ever ...

Re: A Recommended Atari ST
This is well known way of switching a MegaSTe to external ACSI. That's not even Scarlettkitten's picture ;) http://atari.8bitchip.info/MegaSTEACSI.html Who cares if it wasn't my picture  , I wasn't going to open my MEGASTE when there's a photo on the net showing the same thing. It certainty h...

Re: A Recommended Atari ST
Mega STEs have an optional ASCI to SCSI card, which is not required for Ultrasatan. I've took mine out, you just need to add jumper to the internal ACSI header to enable the external ACSI port. (8 jumpers) http://atari.8bitchip.info/p/MegaSTE_ACSIjump.jpg Very cool. Thanks for the post and the pict...

Re: A Recommended Atari ST
The battery in the Mega Ste is on a piece of velcro tape. I simply took them out of both of my Mega STe computers.
For HDD patched games the 16Mhz is a huge plus. Not always but it is nice.
You just have to make sure it has a ACSI card in it so you can hook up an UltraSatan.
(Or internal drive)

Re: Circus back²STage : new hicolor demo
Cool demo. On my STE the pictures are not as clean as I see in this thread or the youtube video.
I get little vertical lines here and there. Maybe because my STe is NTSC?

Re: Pacmania STE
I was just playing the newest version and while on the third level at the bottom right of the maze, I was on the bottom of the maze. A ghost entered the right-bottom most spot from above and turned invisible. It then must have caught me because I died, even though I could not see the ghost.

I have always been a great fan of Namco's arcade shooter. At last i found the perfect version on Atari ST. Quest For Galaxia (Budgie UK). This one does the job better then any other version i have tested on any console or computer. Personally, I like Bellum more: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atar...

Re: Pacmania STE
I've been playing on my STe for awhile. No problems. Sometimes the screen blacks out for a split second but this is not the 1st ST game I've seen do that. When your game is over the Intro screen is shown again, then the high scores, followed by level select. Then the "To Replay this level..." count ...

Re: New ULTRASATAN prototype
No problem for you Ninja, I have 8.43 and it is working fine. Let me also say that the bug I mentioned also affected the UltraSatan that Zaxxon made for me, according to Lotharek (who has it in his keeping for the time being). It is fixed in the latest, just released version which is 8.46. And note...

Re: Droid - new STE DMA sampled sound patch
Any idea what F10 does? I pressed F10 and there was some disk activity. Any plans to make this hard drive installable? Well spotted! Taking a look, there are three keys which are polled ingame: P, for pause. F10, which creates a file, writes something to it, then closes it. And E, which I think mig...

Re: New UltraSatan supplier
I am also looking forward to getting this new designed UltraSatan.
My Zaxon model works well, but I like this new side by side layout.
Also, an activity light would be fantastic. That is my one complaint with the current US I have now.
No activity light.

Re: Droid - new STE DMA sampled sound patch
The gameplay video looks awesome! I tried to play in my Mste but the game graphics looked corrupt. Thanks :) Hmm - was the whole screen kind of jumping up and down, and the large numbers at the bottom appearing at the top from time to time? I had that for a while until I used a smaller sample for t...

Re: Pacmania
Tested again on my Mega STE 2.06 UK, 4 MB at 16mhz. It didn't show this time the "invisible ghost" effect on the level intro. I don't know why. Fruit score freezes. On the original game, it goes up for 1-2 secs and disappear. This doesn't happens when you eat a ghost. When I played on my MSTE I not...

Tested: Mega STe TOS 2.06 NTSC (USA) Everything seems really nice and fast. I could not notice anything really wrong. When I ate the last dot on the 1st level the game paused and it played the music that it does for finishing the level. Then the screen went all whacky and the computer hung there wit...
