Re: The Falcon's confusing history
While it's been talked about elsewhere and just my 2-cents in.... it still would have been greatly fascinating had they actually implemented the Jaguar chipset with the Falcon together as planned and we would've had an amazingly capable system. This is exactly what I was expecting! ... and although...

Re: REWRITING HISTORY - 'Jack Tramiel loaned Amiga $500.000'
but Dave Haynie seems to be main source of claim that Atari ST is based on Commodore 900! There is no other evidence of this that I could found except repeating of Dave Haynie: I read elsewhere that Shiraz originally began with a different chip to the 68k, and also an alternative sound chip was ori...

Re: REWRITING HISTORY - 'Jack Tramiel loaned Amiga $500.000'
I highly suspect that Jack was no hero, and actually tried to make pretty rotten and dirty deals. AFAIK, his 'business method' was to take no prisoners, and ethically speaking, I think he played a fairly nasty game. I suspect that this 'backfired' in the USA market of dealers for ST sales, which was...

Re: The Falcon's confusing history
Wowser!! What you seem to have discovered, is that the "Falcon" codename was for the 68040 microbox with build in card slots, and the true next gen machine. Sparrow, is what the ST Cased 68030 cut down, baby falcon, which was released ... possibly using up IC's and parts from inventory. I've persona...

Hi Frank. I'll give this a try, and also a maybe re-format / partition / add driver again, and see what happens.frank.lukas wrote:You can connect your ACSI HDD to your Atari TT on the ACSI Port, test the drive and install a driver ...

Re: Mega Ste hardware problem
Press (and keep holding) <Alternate> ... Thanks, this information is very useful. I did try looking for this info, and ended up trying to read a PDF of a MSTe manual, which is pretty interesting, but lengthy, and in the end it was getting very very late. Again this morning I have tried all combinat...

OK. I put the TT's PSU onto the MSTe, and no change. Its likely not the PSU.

Re: Mega Ste hardware problem
The PSU is brand new, I ordered it from AtariFreakz and its unused.
However, I do have an old one in my TT, so I could try swapping them over. I would not be suprised if the PSU was a poor voltage?

Re: Mega Ste hardware problem
Yep. I've had the floppy cable in every imaginable variation.
I've currently got a TT floppy (another Epson 380) plugged in, using the TT's floppy cable, in the same orientation as it was working in the TT.
I've guessing that you mean turning the floppy connection 180 degree's and re-inserting it?

Re: Mega Ste hardware problem
I did'nt know about this bug! ... On my Mega, if you take the drive A out, you get a desktop with no icons! I have a floppy drive installed in the MSTe however. I made the floppy cable myself, so I decided to take one out of the TT and try it. Floppy does work. And with CONTROL held down, I can get ...

Re: Mega Ste hardware problem
Dammit. My other HD (which has ICD Ad-SCSI inside) does not work either. Without a Floppy in, the MSTe is picking up HDDriver, which is on both the Megafile, and my other Hardisk. However, on boot, after HDDRIVER has loaded, it says 'no partitions found' and then I get 4 bombs. Its not the drive, as...

Re: Mega Ste hardware problem
As this MSTe has no case, I am thinking of trying a 1.44MB floppy drive in it. I think I did mod the drive select on one on...
