Re: New STe demo: The Star Wars demo by The Arctic Land

Should it run on a MegaSTE? I see garbage instead of the pictures both in 16 and 8 Mhz. No sorry it won't work correctly on MegaSTE... The blitter requires one additional bus arbitration cycle on this computer, and especially in the MPP R2-D2 screen where it is used for changing the color palettes ...

Re: MiNT and filename letter case

Ok, it is really strange: if cops.acc is started, then I get the filenames in lower case. If not, then all is uppercase. It happens even if there is no active CPX modules. What could be the xplanation?

Re: MiNT and filename letter case

It is a TT (Tetra) actually. A tower TT. Do you have a CD-ROM installed maybe? Using MetaDOS? I can recall having similar problems with MetaDOS back in the days, but I haven't used a CD-ROM in 20+ years so I can't remember any details. No CD in it, just a SyQuest drive. Are you able to reproduce th...

Re: MiNT and filename letter case

This workaround should have been included in the binary releases, but it looks like it's currently missing. Edit: Attached this accessory. Use this when using TOS AES/desktop with MiNT to get a working keyboard. Will try this as soon as I'm at home again. It just occured to me that this may mean th...

Re: MiNT and filename letter case

You are probably right. I never use the TOS desktop with MiNT so I'm only guessing here :) What happens if you rename the file from the TOS desktop? Is it still in lowercase? Have you tried to delete newdesk.inf? Have you tried to autostart xaloader from the desktop? Haven't tried renaming the file...

I use the original desktop that is in the ROM.

Re: MiNT and filename letter case

Take a look in your mint.cnf. # FS_VFAT_LCASE=YES tells the kernel to return lowercase filenames # from VFAT directory searches. The default is NO. #FS_VFAT_LCASE=YES I set it correctly, but simply it has no effect. The filenames are still lowercase. Could it be, because FS_VFAT is not enabled to t...

I set it correctly, but simply it has no effect. The filenames are still lowercase.

Thanks, but how were you able to start xaloader.prg after the built in desktop appeared? For me it displays all filename as lowercase and cannot make it to run xaloader.prg.

MiNT and filename letter case

I have a TC1208 graphics card and I have problems with its driver if I start xaloader.prg from the MINT.CNF file. So I have set GEM=ROM. This way MiNT boots successfully to 1024x768x256 and I'm at the built-in desktop. The problem is that all filenames are returned lowercase and the desktop doesn't ...

Hi Guillaume,

Would you please make your MiNT setup available again! I have problems installing mint with my TC1208 card. What is the proper order of files in the AUTO folder?

Thanks,

Tried this on a TT, works fine so far.
I have this in the "error.log" file: "Useless GFX_SetPalette() call" (happens a lot)

How to overcome the copy protection after the first level?

Yes I know, but do we really need analog video and/or dual monitor? I think, it would be a fair compromise.

Can't the DVI be replaced by HDMI? Lot smaller.
