Clips for the PLCC 68 sockets

My latest purchase (1040ST) came without the metal clips that help the MMU and GLUE stay in their sockets. Does anyone know if a) is it worth hunting them down, and b) where can I get them??

Re: Ultrasatan (Mini version) fun with two cards

After running non-stop for few hours, now the original disk won’t boot, and the floppy with the driver is showing errors. I think it’s time for a new power supply as my next step before I pull all my hair out...

Ultrasatan (Mini version) fun with two cards

I have been fighting to get this working, and am about ready to give up. Here is my setup: 1040STF early MB version, 1.04 US TOS, Ultrasatan Mini, regular floppy, and 1Gb and 2Gb Trenscend cards, using HDDriver 8.47 I was able to finally partition the 2gb card for TOS 1.04, 4 equal ones, and install...

Adding blitter to 1040STF (70789 board)

Is there anything else I need to do to add the blitter besides soldering the chip itself? I’ve seen a mention of a patch board but that was for a Mega ST... Thanks!

Re: LCD for MiST

One clarification, the color results were with NTSC TOS. Monitor was using 640x480x60Hz. When using PAL TOS, the monitor switched to 800x600x50Hz, and is about perfect for an LCD. Go figure...

LCD for MiST

New MiST owner here. I’ve used my 20” 1600x1200 Dell 2001FP LCD for all my retro needs as it has all inputs and syncs down to 15KHz. Unfortunately when using it with MiSTery core, it has some issues - mono output is shifted too much to the side since its 71Hz vertical, and medium output translates p...

Re: New FireBee owner questions

4. Whenever I'm in desktop and I use the keyboard for the first time, I get a message box saying something like "ikbd driver in MiNT is for TOS <=2.00, please update for TOS 4.04" or similar. Is that a known issue? Well, the embedded desktop is not to be used with FreeMiNT. You should configure you...

New FireBee owner questions

Hi everyone, I have received my new FireBee few days ago and have been playing with it since. Really enjoying the experience so far, and Mathias has helped me greatly through the initial growing pains, thank you! I do have few questions though: 1. The boot menu (to select FireTOS with MiNT, EmuTOS, ...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

I'm definitely excited about the blitter, but do you have an update on the issues posted, such as configuration saving, setting time/date, or HDDriver image issues? While not as much fun to work on I'm sure, they would really help for those of us that want to use it for more than games :)

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

I'm stumped. I've tried it few times, always with the same results. Has anybody been successful with HDDriver?? I gave up on it with the MiST and switched to ICD utils prepped in Steem which does work. Well, I'm trying to justify the $50 I spent on HDDriver :) I guess it's time to give up for now a...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

I've been fighting with MiST trying to set up a working HD image using HDDriver 8.47. This is what has worked so far for me: 1. Using Hatari 1.7.0 on Mac OS X, I was able to format, partition and install the HDDriver, along with all the programs I wanted. 2. Upon first boot, using tos 2.06 US, MiST ...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

That's actually next on the list. Sounds good! Yes, correct. That setting selects what happens with the PAL mode. if your TOS defaults to NTSC then you don't see any change unless e.g. you run software that switches into PAL mode. Then any chance the the menu can say it is in NTSC mode? That'll imh...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Got my MiST today, very nice job! Seems very stable, and I was able to play few games so far with no issues. I do have few questions though: 1. It looks like the OSD menu does not remember settings after reboot/power cycle. Is that something that is on a to-do list, or should I report it as a bug? 2...

Re: Before ST

My first computer experience was playing with teletypes that spit out perforated tape at my father's work. Now that was something :) First computing device I've owned was actually an HP 41CV, back in early 80s, but for real computers, here we go: C64 - 1985 520ST - 1987 Mega ST -1989 Lynx and Portfo...

Re: PX-60

The FireBee is an interesting machine, but I'd say it's the ultimate example of the downsides of clone machines, when it comes to compatibility. Sure in THEORY it can be very compatible with a 030 core in the FPGA and proper VIDEL emulation etc, but we have yet to see that. Instead there's a light ...
