Do you mean the connector on the MB or the connector on the keyboard cable?

Re: Problem wth Falcon

Hmm,,yeah C92 in my schematics does Audio Voltage filtering (AVCC),but how it would be connected to keyboard reset??,,nope,I would quess on Stormy:s thing there.A glitchy connector or something of that kind. But as for the capacitor, first time I heard of a leaking one in the Falcon,,or actually on ...

Re: Problem wth Falcon

I just got in C92 in and replaced it on the MB. The first time I powered up, it did not respond. But the next 12 times I powered up the keyboard worked fine. I suspect the first power up simply needed to clear a prior logic state in the CODEC. So now I think (and hope) it is fixed. I do not know wha...

Re: Problem wth Falcon

It appears the C92 is tied to a CODEC chip U28 which is part of the keyboard reset circuit. I might have found my problem.

Re: Problem wth Falcon

I got the MB out and the keyboard connector looks fine. But an electrolytic cap C92 looks like it has been leaking. Anyone know what C92 is used for?

Problem wth Falcon

I turned on my Falcon last week and the keyboard was not responding. So I took of the case and blew it out and did a visual inspection and some more testing and the keyboard started working again. Powered it off and on a couple of times and the keyboard still worked. So I thought maybe I got lucky. ...

Re: Hard Drive inside Mega ST4

You could put one of these in there with your micro AdSCSI: http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD I have an older version of it and I was able to get 4, 1 gig drives out of it on the same SD card. I did not put it in a Mega ST, but I suspect it would draw no more power than a vid...

Re: Hard Drive inside Mega ST4

Time to revisit this topic. I have a Mega ST4 on the way and a ICD Micro SCSI host adapter on order. I hope to have both within a week. I was looking at the specifications of the drive I was going to install. It is a Seagate ST31230N 1GB SCSI. The manual states that it is low power but it's peak pow...

Re: How long will they last?

This is quite reassuring. I was hoping for my MiST and MiSTer to last a good long time. I could not find any documentation on the mtbf on FPGAs. There is a reliability report at Intel for the Altera Cyclone V SE FPGA (which I just found) which lists the FIT as 13.5. https://www.intel.com/content/dam...

How long will they last?

At this point in time, most of my classic computer equipment is between 30 and 40 years old. I am very please with how it has all stood the test of time and usage (with proper surge suppressors of course). I do not have any modern wintel computers that even come close. Most laptops seem to fail afte...

Re: Laser C with TOS 2.06?

In order to work with TOS 1.04, the patch program was inadequate so Megamax released version 2.1 of Laser C. I am not aware of any way to support TOS 2.06.

Re: Backward III and NVDI

Actually I have applications that only function in the presence of Backwards. Backwards can be fully configured for the various options of 8/16MHz, data cache on/off, instruction cache on/off, TOS patched, Gem On/Off. Combined with XBoot3, it makes for a highly configurable and more compatible Falco...

Backward III and NVDI

After a five year break I am back on my Falcon and looking to optimize it's performance. Backward III really helps with app compatibility. It did take me awhile to figure out that some of the hotkeys were reversed from the documentation on my machine at least. Specifically the cache controls. I also...

Help compiling MicroEMACS 5.0

I managed to successfully compile uemacs 3.9 under MWC 3.0. So I decided to give uemacs 5.0 a whirl. I believe I have estruct.h configured correctly, fixed a missing declaration statement, and got everything to compile successfully without any serious errors. The problem arose with the linker. There...

Re: GamebaseST alive & kicking

Just a quick update! GamebaseST is progressing very well, it is now at v3.5d, which (if you understand my version numbers) means 400 games have been added since the last public release. I should be more, but I have ended up restructing almost everything to make it more accessible for users. I also ...

Re: CLI Shell for Falcon

Are you using plain TOS? In that case I can recommend Gemini+Mupfel. It would appear that there are four different versions available. 1.1 and 1.2 are in English. 1.99 and 1.999 are only available in German. I need an English version. Would 1.2 be adequate or is it too undeveloped? Are there any ot...

Looking for Micro C-Shell 2.7 by Beckemeyer

Extremely rare and very hard to find. Does anyone have a lead on Micro C-Shell 2.7 by Beckemeyer? History and automatic name completion make it much more useable than 2.6.
