Re: Best TOS for music?

I agree with Charles, firstly it depends on what software, but a lot of good music software was developed early on. This is why I personally prefer from an ST perspective, the STFM over the STE, so anything up to TOS 1.04 is good for compatibility. TOS 2.06 is good for most needs and is a general TO...

Re: Proper Atari ST gray and 3D printing

Indeed, I tested all of the said RAL colours on my STFM last year, none match, testified by a colour match specialist who also confirmed there is no RAL match. Therefore I went for a bespoke colour match for my STFM.

It seems like after 13 years this hasn't turned up as a download either freeware or abandonware, so why not try alternatives: There is Hybrid Arts GenPatch, a universal Patch Librarian which supports the Korg DDD-1 with a template. Here we go!

I downloaded these somewhere across the net, can't remember where. Both work for me, enjoy:
SOFTSYNT.zip
Digidesign Turbosynth v1.0.zip
I will add these to my website when I finally am happy with its design and content.

Re: CT60PSU is available

Congratulations, I did see both this and the GOEX on FB. Both interesting prospects, a nice tidy addition to both problems. GOEX does solve that nasty Gotek fitting issue I have not been much of a fan of. May I ask, with regards to CT60PSU, if you have internal IDE or IDE>CF bracketed, what happens ...

Re: Falcon & amp or soundcard : best options ?

Falcon internal bus > digital waveform data > internal crystal DAC > Output headphone jack analogue Falcon internal bus > digital waveform data > FDI unit converts from digital binary to digital optical > EXTERNAL DAC > analogue This is what I mean by either way you end up with analogue. Re: Falcon & amp or soundcard : best options ?

If just using the Falcon's inputs and outputs you would end up with analogue via the Falcon's DAC.. Depends on your output at the end of the chain and if you use an FDI you could have a clean digital siignal. Even though I don't do this, I could connect Falcon to FDI to my speakers digitally. The FD...

Re: Falcon & amp or soundcard : best options ?

Hi there In some ways you have almost answered your own questions. I guess you won't find many answers on the internet because in many ways it's simply making a connection from one device to another. So to help, there is really no right or wrong answer, just what works for you, so ultimately you pro...

Re: Favourite 3D games that look visually pleasing?

The surprising thing is that the Archimedes original isn't particularly optimised; another developer picked it up a couple of years ago and has managed to increase the draw depth massively (Youtube link, with commentary). That's interesting, I think I briefly read that somewhere. A lot of dedicatio...

I never knew the history of this game, cool to hear about Zarch too! As it happens, Virus is the first game based visual that appears in the video, its the best I could find upto now for the space theme I have going :-) I think I we're 4 when I first played it, as it was one of the first games I ha...

Re: Favourite 3D games that look visually pleasing?

I remember Mercenary fondly, but for me the best was Virus ported from the Acorn Archimedes on which it was called Zarch. For the time it was visually stunning, and actually for me still is, albeit difficult, but still i remember just loving zooming around the landscape, full of beautiful little det...

Re: Did Atari change the ST's case colour or paint formula?

Despite popular belief with colour codes, there currently is no known code(s). I have similarly experimented with RAL codes that get suggested, none are a match, also confirmed with the paint specialist I enquired with. I discussed colour and finish at length with a specialist after my own RAL tests...

Hi David Not sure where there is a download / copy of EMC Korg 01W Editor, I see Polynominal mentions it. Maybe try one of the universal librarians if all else fails. Uniman appears to support the Korg 01W. Download, and all supported 'device adaptors' including 01W here: http://home.kpn.nl/m.tarens...

Hi, yes most of the Terrible Fire accelerators are compatible with the ST. See here for the guy who produces them: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=65

The guy on eBay is of course reselling the TF534 which is now an older accelerator for info.

That's interesting, awesome! Funny you say that, I have moved that list of samplers whether they be 'pro' or 8-bit lo-fi to my own hobbyist website. I have been tidying it up, but I have a 'to do' list of samplers I am aware of, about 12 or so if I recollect which I have come across but have yet to ...
