Re: Looking for a particular menu disk

Surely this is the classic Automation 84? I remember this as I re-trained and re-released Human Killing Machine with a better trainer (Automation 84v2) Shw Damn, I really hoped this could be it, but the image isn't what recall, and I've never played any of the games on there. I'm starting to think ...

It was definitely Freddie, it'll be the games that I'm wrong about.

I think you've done the same line of investigation as myself, I guess it'll just remain a mystery to me. Thanks for looking anyway.

Re: Looking for a particular menu disk

Hunter is on PP95 but it doesn't look like Freddie Krueger: http://stonish.net/Pompey-Pirates-223#st111 I can't see Freddie Krueger on any Automation menus either. Nope. I've checked every screenshot of Exxos's list ( https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/games/index.htm ) and it's not there. It's bugg...

Looking for a particular menu disk

I'm trying to track down a menu disk that I used to have. I was fairly sure it had either Hunter or Jimmy White's Snooker on it. I was also fairly sure it would be a Pompey Pirates disk. However. I've looked through all the menu screenshots on Exxos' site (for all groups) and don't see it. All I rem...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

I found the same thing. I expect its because TOS 1.* & 2.* have no concept of a 68020 CPU. I'll try putting emuTOS on my MiST today and try that. I figured it out. It's what RealLarry was saying -- it doesn't work above 4mb. Otherwise, using TOS 2.06 with a 68020 in STe, MegaSTe or STeroids all wor...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

Oh, hmm. How do I actually get the 68020 option to work? I don't seem to be able to boot to any sort of usable desktop with it enabled. Is there a specific chipset/TOS version I need to use? I found the same thing. I expect its because TOS 1.* & 2.* have no concept of a 68020 CPU. I'll try putting ...

Re: update script for MiST

Mistica is impressive for the price...and if you're in the UK currently the only MiST option. Actually, Lotharek now had a UK based reseller. https://retrolemon.co.uk/25-fpga-computers Though I have a MiST already, I do sometimes regret not going for the MIDI version. It's a shame the Mistica...

When it bombs, there's something wrong with your code. Impossible to tell what since you did not actually post your code. Fair enough  The code is posted below. It's meant to let a picture appear as follows: Steem__00004.jpg It works fine until I uncomment the three lines near the bottom to wa...

Re: Devpac debugging tutorial

All, As I continue my early steps into 68000 coding, I'm starting with some basic code that just copies an image to the screen using some simple effects. It works well enough, until I add a VBL wait to the code, at which point my program bombs out back to Devpac with "TOS error #1" when it hits thos...

Re: Devpac debugging tutorial

I should have probably pointed out that up to now, my recent development has been done using the ST core on MiST. I do have access to a PC, and could use the Steem (which I'll try out today), but am also interested in the "classic" methods, just for checking out quick issues.

Devpac debugging tutorial

After many years of tinkering with high level languages, including STOS on the ST, and a smattering of C, I'm trying to teach myself 68000 assembly. I worked through MarkeyJester's 68k tutorials (though they're not platform specific) and I'm slowly working through the Perihelion tutorials that were ...

Re: MiST newbie guide

...I realize the VGA to HDMI converter is another complication, but it really cannot be helped... As long as you use NTSC standard (I assume to do so as you live in the US), it will be fine. Most cores output 640x480@60Hz in NTSC mode, which is common resolution/refresh rate for both VGA & HDMI. Un...

Re: Dressing up your MiST

I recall something... :) https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=278484#p278484 I just have a small silver Amiga checkmark logo on mine. That's the skin I use on mine. It makes it looks like a much more complete and professional product. I don't know how it will look on a v1.4 MiST though, as I...

Yep, waggling the stick is another way of changing your ship.

Unfortunately I found the game pretty unplayable because of the number of times I'd change the ship when I didn't want to.

I've even recently ordered a new RetroRadionics 9 pin joystick specifically for my MiST. With the arcadeR radiotronics joystick, it is possible to use the secondary button as button 2 in MIST ?? . There are games that use the second button. Yes. It works straight out of the box. I tested with Turri...

Re: Atari ST hardware based coin-ops

Although not strictly speaking a coin-op there was a Business Card Printing Machine found in railway stations which contained an Atari ST and some good quality printer. I saw it open for repair one day at Paisley Gilmour Street Station in Scotland. That must have been about 1992. I can't find any f...

Re: Floppy Disk Stream Image Repository

It's not really a mess, it's just a single sided disk. The right side, track 1, with all the red, is an unused side. On the left side, side 0, the bottom of the disk, it looks like there's 2 tracks with data? in the sector gap. Otherwise, the start sector is just rotated. There's info about it in t...

kodak80, I've just uploaded another set of disks to your dropbox.

There's one bad dump in there - Time Scanners second disk is bad. The others all seem good.

Re: Floppy Disk Stream Image Repository

Folks, I'm dumping some of my budget titles now. There's some really questionable stuff in there, but it's all worth preserving. I've hit a snag with one game - Extensor. AUFIT and HXC show a disk layout that just looks like a mess, yet Steem loads the SCP file and plays it fine. I've re-read the di...

I've found a few scenarios still where setting Turbo to chip or both causes issues - an example is the 3d comba...
