How to Unpack - is it difficult???

Hi, This is going to sound really stupid, as everyone here seems to download and unpack programs from various atari archives with ease... I have downloaded some memory checking apps (memcheck.lzh and memspeed.lzh) and I want to use them. I also have unlzh.lzh, which I thought would allow me to unpac...

Yeh, I think the keyboard chip is in OK, I pushed it in and resoldered the pins to be sure. I'll take a look at the pcb again. Don't recall dropping it (can't say no one else in my house didn't tho' - every time I come home there's something new to fix for the people who think brute force is the onl...

Strange keyboard malfunction

Hi, I'm trying to get my keyboard working. The "(" and "/" keys on the numberic keypad do not work. I have been following simbo's informative instructions for repairing keyboards, I have dismantled the keyboard, cleaned it and the klicks too. All this looks ok. No black dots of pcb disease to be see...

I could not get these to work in my STe at all (see postings 'Troublesome memory Upgrade' in Hardware foru...

For sale : 1MB simms suitable for Falcon 030

I have 8 1MB simm cards that I bought to upgrade my STe, but were too fast (60/70ns) for it to work. Apparently they are suitable for the Falcon 030.

Anyone interested?

Simbo - you are a genius! I went to my workplace's PC graveyard and found an old 486 (I think), quite old anyway, had the big 5inch floppy disc slot from the days when floppies really were floppy! Whipped out 4 simms (hope no one wants to use it again!) . My google search says they are 70ns on...

Update on my situation: received replacement memory, tried it in my STe - switch on - nothing!! black screen, no disc drive activity. Put old memory back in, all is well. The memory has apparently been tested by the supplier, who says if it doesn't work, it must be something to do with my machine. D...

Troublesome memory upgrade!!!

Hi, I've been trying to upgrade the memory on my ! meg STe to 4MB. The best I have managed is with just 2 cards in slots 2 & 4 (slot 1 at front, 4 at the back) This brings up the desktop OK, but little dots gradually appear at random on the screen. With more cards/different cards installed I just ge...

Testing memory upgrade on STe

Hi there, This is my first post, I'm amazed there seem to be so many recent posts here. I love my Atari STe - my second, the last one went very flakey after I moved house, I tried fixing it many times - 4inch drop fix, then taking it apart many times. Anyway, it really had stopped working, so it got...
