The games of "RETURN of the BORDERS"

Postby 1st1 » Sun Sep 01, 2019 11:11 am

Hello, I just downloaded the missing demos of the book "RETURN of the BORDERS", see list on page 5.

There is also al list "Games to play" on that page. Finding the demos on pouet.net was simple, but where to get these games?

Iron Soldier 1&2
Albion
Crown of Creation 3D
Obsession
Running
Substation
Stardust
Super Burnout
The Apprentice

Maybe I even have some of them, but my collection on my personal server is so big and a bit unstructured, so for now I prefer to download them somehwere.

I've checked couple of above games at:
https://www.planetemu.net
and those are available there. The only game I do not recognize on any Atari platform is Albion. Are you sure this game was on Atari? If yes only Falcon or Jaguar could hande it and from what I know, it definitely was not released for Falcon, and if it goes for Jaguar, I do not know its realm too much, but quick search through the web did not find me any informations regarding that Albion was ever released on Jaguar.

Albion was released by German software company Blue Byte and was released for IBM PC only.

Although the one 1st1 is referring to, the one mentioned in the book, is indeed the one released by Blue Byte for MS-DOS only.

yes, looking at the game info, the one by ex Thalion members makes a lot more sense than an old text adventure in French :)

No, not that Apprentice. The Apprentice game described in the book is a CD-i game, coded by former Atari demo scene members. It's another example how demo coders excel on other platforms even if they weren't built as game machines.
