2600 mods

Postby Retrowaynie » Fri Jan 04, 2019 7:44 am

Hi,
What if any, are alternative mods for the 2600?
Other than removing the modulator?
Just curious what other people have done.

I converted mine to SVideo, it's pretty easy and gives about a 1000% picture quality improvement on a modern TV.

Yes it does, very good one.
The old cases can be very brittle, I wonder has anyone thought outside of the box(case) on this one?
I've a few the cases just crumble away.. Its not just limited to the 8bits machines though, I guess.

I have just got a 2600 (6 switch woody) and a composite video conversion kit but not fitted it yet. Is there anything else that is done on these as a matter of course? E.g. new voltage regulator and capacitors etc.?

Many thanks.
Atari 520STFM with 4MB of RAM
Atari 2600 6 switch woody
Atari 800XL (on its way)
Hoping to own an original 800 at some point
Lots of 8 bit stuff
