Cubase Score (ST version)

Postby jrhansen » Wed May 16, 2018 8:56 pm

Anyone know if there is a hacked Cubase Score 2.06 floating around ?

So far I have gotten the normal Cubase 2.01 to work on STEEM
But that is definetly not the same version as the latest Cubase Score I had with my 1040STFM.
I remember it had a much better Score editor, Newer MROS (Pretty sure it had the Switcher app that is found in the Audio version for Falcon)

I can only find some original 2.06 and 3.01 for Falcon and TT wich requires the old cartridge Dongle, and Unlucky I only have a Cubase 2 Dongle for Windows since silly me went and traded it in for the first Windows versions wich newer worked very well.

There is a cracked Cubase Audio, on the real Atari computers if you press the SHIFT and ESC keys while starting the program: it will load without the audio part. The MIDI function is the same as Cubase Score.
Another question is the reliability of that crack, I do not know it because I use the original version.

the only reason for it to be cracked the right way would be to preserve the software because dongles sooner or later will start failing and getting harder and harder to find.

Cubase Score is the best for MIDI as far as the MIDI tracks - 128 tracks supported . Audio has only 64 midi tracks. So for pure midi sequencing for me Score r7 is the best. I also use original dongle that came with the Score set.

I have heard also from a audio eng. Karel Post that Cubase Score 2.0r7 is the most stable release of all but v3 is the fastest but more unstable then Score.

I have not had any problems with v3, it is even the most compatible with my VME video card; I also use Score 2.0r7 because it has more MIDI tracks (I do not really occupy 128 tracks, I think it's a brutality) and because it uses the same dongle as v3, but I have not experienced any instability with v3.

P.S. The one that is totally unstable is version 3 CRACKED, at least the one that circulated in the 90s: pure garbage, it is not like the v2.01 MCA cracked that was perfect.

Here you can get a Cubase v3 CRACKED, which I have not tried and therefore I do not know if it works correctly. I also do not know what version it is, because v3.01 does not support external modules but v3.10 does support them just like Score.

looks like "Cubase 2.b.0", seems to render menus significantly faster than MCA cracked 2.0.1. It has that cramped font I don't really like but maybe that can be fixed

Ok I have done some testing with all versions of CuBase I could find and by far the fastest and most responsive in all areas is Dongled CuBase Score 2.0r7. This for me seals it to just stay with a Dongled version of Score and perhaps to find a backup dongle just in case this one dies.

Screen redraw when scrolling is at least 3 times faster on my hardware then version 3.1 or any other cracked version I found.

don't even try cubit
Cubase prior to name change
its gemdos' freezes
cause mouse often wont work ,,,
would like to know what version st cubit was marketed for ???520 ???stfm ????
......I have a couple copies to sell if anybody interested.....
for me Cubase 2 or Cubase 3 dongled seem to be perfect ,,score is slow and if I go over 32 tracks it doesn't to fast screen redraws.........but deep in my soul I love them all ...thanks Steinberg and Cubase !!!!!!!!!

I guess it all depends on the hardware you run it on. My tests were on TT030 with NVDI 4 might be different under different config. Right now I have about 40 tracks and Score is scrolling them and redrawing faster then v3.1.
