General GFA questions

Postby WireLord55 » Mon May 07, 2018 10:12 am

Hi,

Well I've stumbled across SpriteWorks (Thanks Mug UK!) and i can't get DESIGN1.PRG or SAM_WORKS.PRG (i think thats the name?) working.

Also, where do i find a copy of GFA DRAFT?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I did not know this program.
I prefer UPSIS (in French), several layers of drawings .......
The floppy disk in this folder: http://www.mirari.fr/file/browse?f=692&u=506

In the AUTO folder:
Colos.prg, high resolution emulator for color screen
Qsauto.prg: VDI Accelerator Medium Resolution
Gdos.prg: for printing
Lgselect.prg: file selector

a lot of gfa programs will be unuasable
they were rewritten with intentional errors to teach novice coders how to code instead of actually just handing over the answers .... nothing like going back and fixing stuff just to find its not what u need to learn ,,,,
fun either way

That being said, how do I get SpriteWorks working?

Thanks,

Don't believe Charles.

Spriteworks is not only a set of tools but provides lots and lots of routines to use from GFABASIC code.
There is a large document describing the additional commands, each with a code snippet how to make use of the routines.

It's just a matter of reading the docs and calling the commands properly.

I've got a few questions about the SPRITE command.

How do I target a picture file (so i can move it around the screen)?

And

What is the MKI$ stuff, and is it necessary?

Thanks,

WHY NOT BELIEVE ME ?
TRY AND BEGIN A LIST OF SOURCES WHICH WORK WITHOUT REPAIRING
AND
SOURCES WHICH NEED REPAIR OR MODIFICATION TO WORK
ITS STAGGERING HOW MANY DONT WORK PROPERILY

Ok. I'll explain.

Why doesn't the following work?

Code: Select all

BLOAD "PIC1.PI1",a$
SPRITE a$,x,y

Would it be better to do this instead?

Code: Select all

BLOAD "PIC1.PI1",VARPRT(a$)
SPRITE a$,x,y
