Need help !

Postby nagual » Mon May 13, 2019 7:16 pm

I have to migrate complete PostgreSQL database (tables, data, schemata...) to Microsoft SQL Server.
Since I do not have enough knowledge about PostgreSQL nor SQL server, question is how can I do that ?
Is there any tool to migrate complete database ?

I actually found one perfect tool for that, FullConverter, put price is....

I tried with pg_dump, but I stucked on importing to SQL Server...I even don't know if pg_dump make everything select...

So, any help, link, step-by-step tutorial for idiots (me, of course!) is more then welcome !

Cheers!

MS SQL server has many versions and flavours which have different tools.
Search for and download MS SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
It has the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard.
You probably need to install an odbc driver to connect to the PostgreSQL database.
Good luck.

I found some scripts for PostgreSQL side, but don't have idea for SSDT tools:-)
Anyway, I'm downloading SSDT tools now (it's actally quite heavy, almost 1GB in download!) and tomorrow I try scripts any SSDT :-)
