Jochen Hippel - WarptYMe

Postby dokkie » Sat May 11, 2019 5:14 pm

From the YM-Rockerz this is Jochen Hippel's last composition on the Atari ST.
Let's hope he will make some more tunes.. This is the best I've heard in ages on the humble St!

Yeah we were lucky to get him to do an exclusive tune for us back then... but he's very hard to reach and hardly replies... so this was his last tune up to now.

It's in the SNDH archive. My question is was the original composed using TFMX or TFMX-COSO?
He can really make the YM2149 chip "talk"!
Still got, still working: Atari 4Mb STe, 520STFM, 2.5Mb STF.
Hardware: Cumana CSA 354, Ultimate Ripper, Blitz Turbo, Synchro Express II (US and UK Versions).

TFMX ? No it's plain YM + soft modulation (SID, digidrums). :)
Certainly composed on his personal ST YM tracker.

Hippel had an especially fine groove on his latest tracks.
Also check his tunes "Virtual_Escape-End_Part.sndh", "Faith.sndh", "Buzzer.sndh", "AJH_99.sndh", "Solidify.sndh", "1.sndh" and "2.sndh" at : http://sndh.atari.org/sndh/sndh_sf/mad_max/ (and the /Demos/ subdir), in the same vein.

(and then, check "Cube!"'s work if you haven't yet, for more ultra blasting progressive grooves)
