The Replicants are back in town ;)

Postby Brume » Wed Dec 26, 2018 11:22 am

Looks like the famous French crew has released a new stuff for Christmas!

As a last gift for Christmas, we are very proud to offer you a new release by... The Replicants! Yes, the famous French team is back, that's not a fake!

So what is the name of the game? The Replicants present Safari Guns, a French game that was never properly cracked. Orion did a fantastic job and he also multi-trained the game. You now have unlimited lives, but also max points per pictures, level selection, etc.
[...]
The great intro has been coded by Kelly X of HMD, while Dieu made the brilliant graphics. Also don't forget the new tune composed by Dma-Sc from sector One. We really hope you'll enjoy the result as we do each time we see this Xmas intro.

The full disk and more details about this release are available at Atari Legend:

The intro is here:

And the video is here (recorded by Evil/DHS, thanks):

The purpose of this comeback is to 1) have some fun & nostalgia and 2) document the techniques used to crack/file/pack... games on Atari ST.
For each new crack, I will release the full sources with detailed explanations.
For Safari Guns, it's available here: https://github.com/orionfuzion/newcrack ... er/SafariG
Greetings to everyone here! ;)

Thanks for documenting this!

Any chance of also doing some livestreaming/recorded cracking sessions where we could see your process of investigating the disks and figuring out how to circumvent the copy protection? I would love to watch something like that on Twitch or Youtube!

Thanks!
I've already thought about such recorded cracking session... In particular the cracking of a Rob Northen TVD protection...
But I can't promise... Possibly if I can find some help for the video editing (adding notes, etc...).
But for the moment, I'm focusing on the next release :)
