R0X ZER0

Postby Tomchi » Sat Sep 08, 2018 11:32 am

Hi !
It's been years since i last came here ...
Don't know if you can call someone, so first, tell me that :P (just like FB with the @somenone)

Ten years ago Heavy Stylus and I decided to make a prequel to r0x, a game you could "shoot something" :)
Gfa-ed a lot ! Then we lost contact, dropping the project.
Went back on it in 2012 or so, trying to fix things, adding a bit of asm inlines and so on ...
I made a BIG dev mistake, hardcoding the enemy sprites paths, so that is a real pain to make some gameplay.

We put so much efforts, Stylus nagging a pro for gfx , that i can't bear it lying on my HD.

so I decided to release it for SV, no matter it deserves more dev, I just want it to exists.

All (almost) the gui bugs are fixed, I have to make some paths now ...

So my request is :

I need people I know and/or trust, responsive, as i want feedback as soon as i've sent smth :P
Not waiting for me to answer quick re- :P
(Yeah, ask Heavy Stylus, i'm a morron)

Basically, I don't want to be told, "you should add this or that", no more time/motivation for it, it would rather be about difficulty/score.

I thought, I'd ask in the STOT forum, but since it's been years inactive, I post it there.

Some are probably like me, would love to test it, but don't have much time for extensive testing.

Granted part of my problem is my UltraSatan decided to stop working, so I ordered a new one the other day. Hopefully it is that and not the ACSI port of my TT030 and 1040 STe....
Atari 8Bits: 800xl, 600xl, XEGS, 800, 130xe, 130xe (VBXE, U1MB, Stereo POKEY)
Atari STs: 1040STf (broken shifter), 1040STe, Mega STe, TT030, Falcon (CT60e, SuperVidel)

Well, as I wrote, that isn't about looking for bugs , as they're solved / known (I think), it 's rather about spending say 1/2h once or twice a week to give feedback and eventually help me have some stats on how many points pple score :P

Thx to everybody replying, gonna write to you.

Looks like if each of you give it a go and send feedback/score, i'll have enough to guide me ;)

As it requires the use of 3 buttons + direction, i went into jagpad control yes.
Lately i also wired a USB pad and implemented the code to read it (hidden feature)

Depending on the interest, i might add stuff.

Superb game. Could it possible to add up the lady's voice from the PC version?
If I'm courageous enough, I will port the PC version to the Jaguar

Fortune favours the brave :D

This would be a most welcome edition to the ever expanding Jaguar library.
