Ok, I know its a PC app, but I got the impression that you needed two floppy drives on your PC to get this to work, according to the text file. A bit confusing that text file, but still doubtful it will work since the FAT probably wont be readable :(

Well either the disk is dead, or it simply has some mould on disk surface, and no tools will be able to process that. One solution is to open the disk in half, check for mould traces on the surface, and use 70% alcohol with extremely soft demak up cotoon for women to gently remove the poo, and then image the disk.

However, if you see vinyle disk like "furrow", the disk mostly can't be repaired.

hey that's my trick dlsilver

my other trick is ,
taking the disk apart and using a nice new floppy disk shell
place the old disk inside it ,
this seems to make spin correctily at r.p,m,
as old disks kind warp

Has anyone tried ST Recover, by the way I am getting rid of my old XP machine for an even older machine that will support both 3.5 and 5.25 disks, I already have the 5.25 inch floppy drive and cable i works but my Bios does not support it. Russ

I agree with those who say that best way of repairing is careful cleaning of floppy disk surface.
Repair SW can fix some errors, but not for instance wore magnetic layer.

I used to sometimes use f-copy pro to copy a disk to another to fix errors , you can change the step rate to a slower one set retries etc, occasionally this seemed to help. It may also be worth trying a different drive as you may get lucky.
