Thanks to all.
Noyon is a small (15 000 inhabitants) * but nice town, we even have a cathedral, +++
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... +cathedralhttp://www.oisetourisme.com/la-cathedrale-de-noyon the oldest of its type in the North of France
Charlemagne was crowned there.
Later Hugues Capet, king of the Francs.
That IS something in terms of French history.
http://www.ville-noyon.fr/-Les-temps-fo ... e-de-.htmlAccomodation is cheap, food well ... it is France, so, need I say more ?
Access is easy from Paris. Train or A1 (motorway 1) for 90% of the journey.
We have a lovely town centre, lovely buildings (real old stones, not the massive bricks as you can find furher North) a bowling, a movie theatre with latest technology inc Atmos sound, a lot of sport equipments, open markets, a huge commercial area with big Auchan supermarket, and so on ...
To me it is lovely, and price of the real estate is just so damn low (or maybe it is the true price ; and in fact it is in Paris that is this so damn high

1 square meter in Paris, on average, costs the price of 12 square meters in Noyon, on average)
I already met the Mayor and well he is happy if this can happen.
Also contacts with the hospital about best type of company to make donations (charity).
Unemployment is high here, it is one of these cities where industries have closed over the past decades.
A lot of people take the train everyday to go and work in Paris or the suburbs.
We have at last the project of a new canal passing nearby and it should wake up a bit the area for a couple of years during the construction, and create some jobs, which is, of course, excellent news.

* with 6 000 youngsters IIRC as all colleges and schools are in this town and not in the surrounding villages.
+++ less than 10 minutes on foot from my buildings. Noyon was more important than its nearby (30 kms) Compiegne town, a few hundred years ago.
Note : maybe I need to add that I have 2 houses so full of retro machines that I can hardly circulate ... and I am not joking, this is near needing psychological treatment. I must aplogize each time the postman or postwoman brings me some parcels.
And the guys from UPS or DHL well, we are almost pals
On stardot they had opened a thread for me 'ZAP (Zarchos Acorn Pile ...') :
http://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewto ... zap+museumI am known as the strange guy in the street

with a Sinclair C5
Even one of my bathrooms is full of parcels.
I am going to sell one of them to get some cash for the project.(house, not bathroom !).
Now let's be frank : I am not a weirdo.
If the museum and all other ideas work, that is great.
If it fails I already have several ideas of what to do with the buildings : I am a pro in real estate investment, so, like a cat, I will always fall on my feet, not on my back. Like I (with partner + bank) did for 10 years in the heart of Paris, dealing with entire buildings in the 1500 - 2000 square meters area (and with tenants, which is the worst. But I am quite good at understanding laws and dealing with lawsuits).
All this to say if some people give me a hand for my projects, I wasn't born yesteday, and yes, I mean business.
