File/Folder/Partition repair program for the Firebee

Postby Gamer » Mon Sep 05, 2016 5:49 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a program that would read a partition and repair a bad file or folder on that partition or at least
let you delete it. I have a bad folder that the Firebee cannot read and so I cannot even get rid of it. Any ideas. I have had this
happen before and I had to get all the good data off of the partition and then re-format it using G-parted on my OpenPandora.
I much would rather use an Atari program for this.

Why? It could delete the folder. Naturaly you wouldnt do it in the root directory

Because the folder is probably undeletable due to a corrupted FAT. If you attempt to force a delete you might f**k up the FAT further.

I would recommend backing up the partition and verify the files, then initialise the partition and copy the files back. Faster and safer than attempting to fix it.

Yes, I am using long file names. I know it does not work on the Firebee, but it is a folder inside the Calamus SL folder. I have had this happen before on another program. I run the program and something got screwed up. I could not get to it, so I just re-formatted. I figure it is much easier to have a program or a way just to get rid of it.

What program would I use to re-initialize the partition? HDDriver.app?

HDDriver is not working at the FireBee. Recetly there is no possibility to partition, initialize or format a device directly at the FireBee. You need another computer to do so, and create usual FAT16/32 or ext2 partitions there.
MegaST 4 with Sounddesigner II MegaBus hardware and 56001, Hades 040, MagiC Mac at Mac OS 9 and a FireBee.

Yeah , I can do that using my OpenPandora and G-parted. That is what I did before. If such a program comes out for the Firebee, please let me know. Thanks....
