Oustanding news!!!   I'm going to download it when I'm back home.

Thanks for your great work. I even sold my A1200 because of this core.

Awesome job :)

Tested the new features with the Multiscan monitor driver, and the 640x480@58Hz is working very well (have to change the cursor to a High-res one). The right side line of pixels issue is not too problematic. No more flicker in high res :D

Only one issue: In 640x480 Multiscan mode, the OSD is "broken", as it is now off scren (you can see it about 1/4 of the OSD window on the right side of the screen, but obviously it is unusable)

Thank you!

I spend a little more time with it : huuuuge compatibility increase here (including many games that had currupt gfx) !!

I only saw one tiny regression : WizKid game (WHDLoad) works with the 1.1 core, but I get a black screen with the 1.2 core. I'll try to make a list :) Apart from very few titles, the only remaining issue I have is with the games giving startup errors like "line 1111 emulator".

As my Iiyama screen didn't appreciate the DblPAL modes (48 Hz : not supported) I tried the other monitors. I got the Euro72 monitor to work (non-interlaced 640x400), pretty good !

Again, awesome work, Chaos :-) You deserve a lot of rest !

How do you enable DbLPAL or Euro72 resolutions?

Move the monitor files from Storage:DEVS/Monitors to DEVS:Monitors
You can double click to test them without rebooting. Before saving make sure your screen supports those modes. (mine doesn't like 48 Hz DblPal :)

Better try Multiscan resolutions (I moved MULTISCAN file from storage to devs/monitors) then you get 640x480 at 58Hz. 99% of vga monitors support that ;)

Thanks! I didn't remember how to do it. I'm going to try them :D

By the way, Have you tested Super Off Road WHDLOAD? Is one of the few few games I'm unable to play, like Pierre is Out of Lunch and Pinball Illusions.

But for example Alien Breed 3D, All New World of Lemmings or the Nexus 7 demo work better than ever :D

Also R-Type II is unplayable but it's not a Minimig fault, is a WHDLOAD fault, because even on WinUAE game has severe graphical problems.

Well, I've done more testing at night, and I've noticed that too many ECS-OCS games run now TOO fast. Playing using WHDLOAD Shinobi, Sidearms, Soldier of Light, Space Harrier II or even the slow Street Fighter II for example is near impossible, everything is fast, so it seems that there is some problems with timings. I haven't tested yet playing these games using ADF disks, but actually I prefer to play from the hard disk. Have you seen the same problem?

At evening I'm going to open these issues at https://github.com/rkrajnc/minimig-mist/issues

Guys, before reporting a bug, please double check under uae and a similar config.

Indeed whdload installs are often at fault ! And adf versions often have troubles because games weren't meant to be used on a fast aga machine...

These games are the same I had and played in my now sold A1200 which had a 68030 50 MHZ and 64 MB RAM. And in previous cores worked well. I've never had any problem with timings, except in JIT enabled emulators. I'll try NOCACHE option, an option I've never used.

Hi ;)

Very good work but Bubble Heroes has still some big graphic's glitches (with or without turbo mode, or with or without cpu caches in KS3.1) and Pinball Illusions still crashes after launching any table.

This is not a problem with WHDLoad but AGA in minimig on new core. R-Type II works fine on ECS settings. ADF version also has problems with graphics if is active AGA. In the present core some games such as. Battle Squadron which in previous cores work fine on AGA do not work properly with the latest core. The solution is to set the OCS / ECS and reset.

Oh, yes, you're right, using previous core, minimig-mist-1_1_20160125.rbf, https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... 160125.rbf I'm able to play perfectly R-Type II, Shinobi, Sidearms...

Hope this AGA problem will be fixed soon.

For example on Battle Squadron it looks identically* as the problems with enabled turbo for chipram with previous cores. Despite the fact that turbo for chipram is disabled.

Did you check these games on ECS chipset without turbo (turbo - none) ?

Hi,

it seems the CPU-chipRAM speed is too fast in the minimig-mist 1.2 even without the Turbo option. It's going to take some time before this is properly fixed, so for now, here's a test version of the minimig core which has the same speed as the v1.1 version when turbo is off.

Does anyone use X-bEnCh for whdload game ? Also have a black screen with pointer after quit x-bench ? The problem occurs only if you run a games, then exit the program. X-Bench v0.99 R7 from http://www.jimneray.com/xbench.html

I am quite new to the MIST. Could anyone please let me know how to update this new build (minimig-mist-v1.2 (2016-02-21))?

Thank you.

You need to both update the core.rbf file and the firmware. Instructions are in the wiki (so check details) but to summarize:
1) upgrade firmware from inside the old core (via OSD menu)
2) (optionally) copy the old core file in your SD card as a backup
3) replace with new core file on the SD

I did this over the weekend and everything worked as I left it (it should keep the old config)

Fenio : I didn't have a good experience either with xbench / tinylauncher. They are still buggy imho (I could elaborate... The biggest issue being hd devalidation with tl !!). That's why I start games via the WB but I had to manually select a subset of games otherwise it'd be too slow... At least it makes it easy to select whdload options, tooltypes, you can make custom categories and icons are gorgeous with newicons...
