TT / MegaSTE PSU Swap

Postby dexterslab » Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:47 pm

i've just replaced the guts of my TT PSU, i was going to change over the caps and main diodes of the old one but after adding it up i just went and bought a 250watt ATX Flex PSU. Which is basically a small ATX PC power supply.

with a little modification it will fit inside the standard PhiHong/Atari PSU chassis. So it looks and fits exactly like the stock PSU, but gives you better line regulation, more efficient, more power capacity, potential for a remote/soft power on switch. Cost was about £40 including the new fan.

standard ATX are cheap, but way too big

this is a FLEX type, which is much smaller (150 x 81.5 x 40.5 mm) and so you pay more for it, this the model i used:
