great news regarding FireBee.

note:
I just read this interview with Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim): http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/int ... cer-546858

"Interview: Fatboy Slim on going digital as a DJ and as a producer

Fatboy aficionados will know that he's a fan of old-school gear like the Atari, the Akai S-950 and the mighty 303, but all that vintage kit has been packed away. "We've got builders in at the moment," he explains, "and I just wanted to make sure my musical treasures weren't going to get damaged!"

The Atari still gets plugged in for the occasional project – more of that later – but his current daily studio is all housed in a couple of MacBook Pros.

So, what prompted the move to a laptop-based setup?
Fatboy Slim: "It wasn't my idea at all. I was completely happy working with the Atari and the Akais, but everybody around me kept saying, 'Norm, you can't carry on like this'."

so maybe you could get him know about FireBee !!
maybe he would buy one and make it more "visible" (market it)?

Nearly half of the needed preorders are in. People you are phantastic. Go on, and we will get our new Bees this Christmas! ;)

calimero, nice finding the video! About Norman Cook, he already knows. There was a posting in his forum a few years ago, and he consideret the Bee as "interresting". But recently it makes no sense to target the Music crowd, when Notator and Cubase are not running at the Bee. We still have some way to go, before we can replace all our original Ataris.
And in general; of course everybody is free to "spread the news" about the FireBee autonomously! ;) The more that you users get active by yourselve, the more the project can step foreward!

Cubase and Notator are beasts working far beside TOS, and they are no real GEM programs. Additionally they contain several 68k instructions that are not present at the ColdFire. So you can´t call them clean GEM programs ;)
Cubase had to be patched already heavily for the Hades to work with 040 and 060 CPUs and Notator is even not running at original Flacons, …

If you need to run these two programs then the Firebee is not the right choice. They are just too tightly connected to the hardware.

Or the MiST?
Mega"SST" 12, MegaSTE, STE: Desktopper case, IDE interface, UltraSatan (8GB + 512Mb) + HXC floppy emulator. Plus some STE's/STFM's

MiST MIDI clock is now accurate:
http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=101&t=25896

But all MIDI programs don't work due to FPGA emulation inaccuracies (late March status):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... li=1#gid=0

E.g. Cubase2 dongle works only on 100% cycle accurate 68000:
http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.ph ... 50#p272863

MiST MIDI wiki page:
https://code.google.com/p/mist-board/wiki/Midi

FireBee is likely to be less compatible.

Pre-ordered, without pre-pay. See no point in pre-paying since the 20 orders have been satisfied.

Honestly, I think though, that the pre-pay should be the gate. 30 more orders, from who know's what source, without pay, means very little, imo.

Usually everybody who preorderes also pays the computer ;)
Additionally several people even like to prepay now that it is not necessarily needed anymore. See the complete preorders of 50 units and the 20 requested prepayments as a proove of interrest, with different levels of seriousness, for that person that will prefinance the entire new series!

We reached 36 preorders now. So only 14 more orders are missing before we can go into production of this 2nd series!

And in general, please everybody update the links to the new website http://firebee.org at your websites, blogs and other links.
