Graphics tablets????

Postby Scarlettkitten » Wed Jan 04, 2012 2:23 pm

I'm after a decent graphics tablet to use with the ST & delux paint, anyone know which is a good one to look for, can I use any serial Wacom tablet with an atari driver?

Thanx

I am sure there might be others.. the only one I know of however is the Tabby, Has it's own drivers or uses drivers incorporated in Rainbow 2 on the Falcon. It is however only something like 5" by 9" big.

Cheers

There was definitely a driver for the Wacom tablet, I vaguely remember it being reviewed in one of the UK ST magazines. Can't help on that front though sorry.

Yep, there are drivers for Wacom serial tablet, managed to dig these up. Hope it's of help. Alas, I'm not sure exactly what models are compatible, but the readme file mentions setting the DIP switches, so it will be the early models that had hardware-based configuration that are most likely to work.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

I have a tabby here, it is indeed a very small GFX Tablet, but it works very good.
To be honest it was lying in a corner until this topic came along, so I took it
out of its box and connected it. It connects to the serial port on the back of
my Falcon. I thought it would replace the mouse but no.
But you can use them both at the same time.

Anyway, the was a disk included with special drivers for it.
Made a .ZIP of it, maybe you can use them...

In case anyone ever stumbles upon this again looking for Wacom drivers for their Atari ST, I'll post the LZH version of the file which expands into a folder with the PRG and everything in it to drag to a 720k PC formatted disk for the Atari ST. There's also an Amiga set too available!
