Bug report

Postby mikro » Wed Feb 25, 2009 9:39 pm

Hi,

I'm lazy to search for / write an email so here it is -- when I choose "STE only" in search page, I've got about 50 games. When I add "Exclude non-commercials" I've got -- an error. Too many entries. WTF?!

OK, that's an odd one. Will take a proper look tomorrow night and see if our new host has got any ideas

Don't see why not Marcer but I can forsee problems when we start putting individual names up for who did what in the various parts of a mega demo - there's just not enough room with the way the credits area was originally designed.

That's a possibility. You going to approach Brume on FB and see how to unlock this function?

Ah .. think we'd better concentrate on getting the bugs squashed in this current version first and then look into unlocking the demos option?

There was a major problem when Atari Legend was moved from the original hosts across to Linkovitch's host. Seems that a lot of data was 'lost' - it was a kick in the teeth as I've no idea how the hell to fix it, replace it etc.

Hey guys,

I still have backups of AL on DVD. I'll see what I can do. I do not plan to start coding again like we did in the past, but if I get access to the server I can start by fixxxing the problems. Normally I still have all the screenshots. I hope so, because it would be a damn shame if all that data got lost. I'll see if my php skills are still any good.

I'll keep you all posted.

Cheers,
Maarten aka st graveyard

Another quicky. Just out of curiosity. Has any coding been done since 2006 on the site? I hear a lot of the demo stuff in this thread. Just like to know, maybe I can help out a bit. Also don't want to overwrite files on server is I ever get access.

As far as I know there wasn't much progress made on it .. Champions 2002 was looking into it but how far he got I've no idea.

Ok Mike, thanks for the reply.

I contacted Lincovic yesterday, he hasn't replied yet. I'll first wait and see if I get access in the first place.
I checked my backups of the site, I think I have all the files (missing screenshots and the likes) to fixxx everything eventually.

Hey guys,

The broken screenshot links are fixed. I checked the server and it looks very complete now to me.

In the next days I will start making backups of the site (writing old ones I have to dvd).
Then I will make my laptop ready to do some php coding and slowly start removing bugs.
If you have any to report, please do so.

I also saw there is already a lot of demo stuff in the db. Who knows I might be able to code a little demo section in the future.

Cheers,
Maarten

This to fix :

- Screenshots at link page
- When searching for interviews, the shot of the person is broken
- on al pages c(opyright) logo is a square. Changes copyright date to 2010 on all pages (use php date for this?)
- newsbuttons missing (first page)

Nice one - just looked at the example given above for R-Type and the page now works fine. Happy bug hunting :)
