I'm afraid I don't have the source any more. I gave my ST away, along with all of my disks, about 10 years ago to a friend. I sort of regret that now :-)

well that didn't take long , i dissassembled the executable
which makeauto.ttp creates , to find ,the first line of every ".prg" fast basic makes references a cartridge
so concluding
i have the impression somethings gone a miss....or in plain english
not what its suppose to be..

ideals?

As per usual Charles, your inability to read any manuals / search the internet / do some basic research before 'jumping in with both feet' is your undoing.

A quick Google would have got you this page: http://www.atarimagazines.com/v6n1/FastSTBASIC.html

Or to save you the trouble of even doing that:

There is *no* compiler for Fast Basic. There are run-time libraries which will help you execute your programs afterwards but that's it.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

no im sure this is the compiller , but won't function because the rom is on chip and the prg is on disk

appologize?

need to say this is me again , have you read the readmee2 in the tool box u ?

it say you can write your own prg
using the the makeauto.ttp
or acc using the makeacc.ttp

but after having you say ther eis no compiler my second thought
is???
or does this(makeauto) just mean it makes a prg that goes in the auto folder
which starts the editor
which loads your program (bsc)
and runs your prg?

who knows
here is the contents of the readme 2 file

    Fast Basic's Tools

MAKEAUTO.TTP This program turns a BASIC program such as
EXAMPLE.BSC into an executable program. EXAMPLE.PRG
is the result of using MAKEAUTO on EXAMPLE.BSC and
contains all that is required to automatically run
BASIC, then run the a copy of EXAMPLE.BSC. It is
not necessary to keep the EXAMPLE.BSC program as it
is contained within the EXAMPLE.PRG file.
To use this tool double click on it, a dialogue
will appear, type in the name of the program e.g.
    EXAMPLE.BSC or a full pathname e.g.
    A:\TOOLBOX.FST\EXAMPLE.BSC and click on OKAY.

MAKEACC.TTP This program turns a BASIC program into desk
accessory format to enable desk accessories to be
written in FAST BASIC. The program must follow the
rules of a desk accessory except it need not
register a name on the desk menu or wait for the
startup message. It is possible to run three desk
accessories and FAST BASIC at the same time.
To turn a BASIC program into a desk accessory
double click on MAKEACC.TTP type in the name of the
program followed by a space, then the name to
    register on the desk menu.
    E.g. EXAMPLE.BSC FAST EXAMPLE ACC

Interesting coincidence. I just acquired a genuine copy of the Fast Basic manual. If anyone wants to make an offer please PM me. Sadly I do not have the actual cartridge!

I bought Fast Basic years ago on floppy disk and posted the quick reference manual as a PDF on another thread. The only difference is that the cartridge version loaded faster. There is no compiler, it was always talked about but never appeared.
Mac Sys Data/Persistence Of Vision

Instructions said to install Windows 2000 or better so I installed Fedora.
