BASIC

Postby MSueper » Wed Feb 11, 2004 6:23 pm

Hello,
in the late 80s omikron basic was the major competitior of gfa basic. Does someone know what has happened to this language? Are there any new releases for atari or falcon?

It seems that after 3.6 no further gfa basic versions were developed for atari. What a shame! Or am i wrong? At least i found some patches...

Greetings, Martin

I didn't heard anything about it until now, but i know some basics were ported to pc.

Who was the editor ?
step 1: introduce bug, step 2: fix bug, step 3: goto step 1.

There was a new release of Omikron Basic in 1996, Version 5.02. However, I never owned it, so I can't tell you much about it. At least there was an article in the german ST-Computer magazine:

Hello,
thank you for the tip, thothy.
Omikron Basic seems to be still available (new versions only for Mac). Version 5.2 is the latest ATARI release:

Just downloaded the demo. The gui is slow compared to gfa basic, but lets take a deeper look...
