Interface GEM resource editor: missing mydial

Postby DrCoolZic » Thu Aug 23, 2012 3:01 pm

For GEM resource development I use the Interface program

I have several version of Interface in german/english/french. The german:english can be found for example at https://sites.google.com/site/stessenti ... /interface

Few days ago I have found the french documentation of interface 2.3 (paper document)
This documentation includes instruction about the usage of the mydial (small GEM extension) that is supposed to be released with Interface.

unfortunately all the versions that I have found and downloaded are missing the mydial lib/directory.

From what I understand mydial is supposed to be distributed as mydial_c.tos archiv

Does anybody have either the complete mydial directory with the mydialg.lib and includes or the mydial_c archiv
I have searched the net for a couple of days without success :(

This is a reply to a pretty old post, but better late than never, right?
Here's the mydial_c.zip archive that you are/were looking for, copied from my (original) Interface 2.33 floppy disks. Hope you or somebody else will find it useful.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Unfortunately not. The Interface manual is in German and with 150 pages it would take quite some time to scan it. If there's enough interest I'll consider doing it.

But I'll be VERY gratefull if we can make some arrangement for Interface manual:-)
I speak and read german very well, so, if You have time to scan/photocopy manual, I'm ready to pay Your effort and time:-)

With best regards!

Sorry for this late reply, but I've been extremely busy lately. I'll try and scan the manual for you, but it won't happen before things have slowed down somewhat, so don't expect it too soon. I guess I'll end up with a lot of image files, will that be OK?

Perhaps there is somebody here that could help me put something more practical (given the images) together using OCR software or similar?

Just use Chrome to open the TXT and it will translate into English.
Not 100% perfect but at least something.

Don’t know if you are still following this thread?

You are talking about a manual that is 150 pages long? I wander what you are referring to? I own the documentation in French: Interface is 23 pages long and mydial is 29 pages

Are there more things documented? Still no time to scan your doc if really 150 pages?

FYI: I just OCRed (with omnipage) the French doc (Interface only)

As you're a great contributor to the Atari community Jean, I went ahead and scanned the manual for you, all 150 pages. I had lots of fun! :D
It's the second revision of the manual and the year says 1994. I would appreciate if somebody could make it available for everyone, somewhere. For now, you can download my scan from here:

The front has a sticker that says New Beat Development. I had a bad habit of putting that sticker on everything back in the days. Sorry for that.

Please note that I'm not really active on AF anymore, I noticed your reply in this thread only because I received an e-mail about it.
If you or anyone else want to contact me, please send me an e-mail. My e-mail address can be found here:

Hope you'll find the manual useful!

All the best,
Daniel

Many thanks to provide us with the manual
I will see what i can do with it ...
I have also been away from AF for quite some times but the Atari fever is taking me back

PS this manual looks quite different from the manual I have that do not include any graphics. Again many thanks I will try to Ocr the manual and try a translation with google translate but this a lot of work ...
Can you have a look here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=37841 to see if the translation of the readme file I have done using google translate is fine

I fixed the orientation of the pages (all landscape now) and ran the scanned pages through an OCR software to make the PDF fully searchable.

Please use this new document and if you downloaded the first version, please delete it.

The link in the previous message has been updated as well.
