Re: Boot sector and memory crushing

Hi,

I have a new observation. The prog works best when `BOOT.PRG' is run from a floppy which sector is to be manipulated, and `BOOT.SEC' resides on the same floppy. Perhaps I may try to rework it to load boot sector in the buffer first and then prompt user for a disk change.

Not sure what is best, the whole prog is nicely designed as a console application and I wish to keep it that way.

Hi,

A small correction in size after BRA.S displacement. Works now realiably on real STFM.
(L)oad function still requires `BOOT.PRG', `BOOT.SEC' be on the disk you wish to write the boot sector to.

Repackaging all into a single ZIP.

Code: Select all

Archive:  BOOT.zip
  Length      Date    Time    Name
---------  ---------- -----   ----
     1126  2018-02-01 09:33   BOOT.PRG
      512  2018-01-20 22:37   60HZ.SEC
      512  2018-01-21 20:16   ATFORCE.SEC

---------                     -------

The prog looks for `BOOT.SEC' file in A:\ directory.
You may need to copy any sample `*.SEC' sector file, or your own built`*.PRG' sector file to `BOOT.SEC'.
