You will complete it in less than half the time and miss out the fun.

my favourite part of that game was discovered by accident, i was stuck in the vogon poetry bit and just typed 'escape'

try it I lauged for about an hour

Oh don't worry Wong - beat this game way back in the day.

But...its worthy enough to play over and over!

There are so many favorite parts for me, I lost count.

One springs to mind immediately - a first cousin of mine was playing
it on my ST, right after the game came out (and Douglas Adams was
still alive!). He was at the part, out of the bar, and the dog kept barking
at him. He was so annoyed at the dog barking every little bit, that he
tried just about everything. He tried to punch the dog, hit the dog, kick
the dog, you name it, he tried it and nothing worked. (there was some
thing about if you had the sandwich from the bar too). Finally, he typed
in, "rape the dog"... I'm not going to tell anyone the result, do it yourself.

Also, typing in "eat me" at any frustrating moment in the game is very
hilarious as well.



PS and yes, my first cousin is one of those people that others look at
and say, "he ain't right, is he?"....

Not the same game but it reminds me of a similar gag in Monkey Island (1) where Guybrush is thrown off a pier with a heavy looking idol chained to him via a short chain, and finds himself sitting on the bottom of the ocean with just three minutes of air - Guybrush has already boasted earlier in the game that 'I can hold my breath for three minutes!'

Just out of reach are all sorts of potentially useful items like saws, hammers, cutters and you try all ways to get to those to cut the chain before your air runs out.

Eventually, maybe, it occurs to you just to try picking the idol itself up. As soon as you do, Guybrush picks it up and climbs triumphantly out of the water and back onto the pier...
