Weird. Hatari won't grab screenshots for me when running this game. Also, the keyboard player's throttle gets stuck, so I had a self-restarting player going from over 10,000 points to zero repeatedly for over an hour.
I think I'll give up for a day or two and try it in another emulator... since it probably doesn't work in mono on my real STE :P

Why don't they make top-down racers any more? Is it because they attained perfection in 1986?

My first attempt: 119,700

80110 !

There are half a dozen but it is true that Super Sprint is very good for a first test!
It was a classic in his day.
But we can do better (gfx, sfx).
I like Skidmarks on Amiga, very amusing at several !
A mix of these two games and we reach the perfection imho :)

10260... hardly even worth submitting, but still! I creamed the other racers in each level until the jump one, which kills me nearly every time (often repeatedly)... it's probably better to stop the car and align it before going into the jump, since the delay caused by missing and crashing is so high and the other cars always make it without problems.

Also, I think traction 1 is more useful than speed 1, maybe...

26070 this time... got caught out by the exact same level - you come third once and it's game over? Ouch :P
Damn that jump!!

I liked Super Off-Road racing on the Megadrive, but the ST version was really frustrating. The 8-bit machines had Championship Sprint which included a track editor and some different tracks. I wonder why it never saw a 16-bit release?

My first try is about 20.000, I can't get a snapshot because the floppy is write-protected and it is impossible to reach to hall of fame... :|

I'll try with another MSA disk image :)

That game saves highscores on disk, that's why you must keep the floppy unprotected.

I'm getting nowhere on this using the analog PC joypad - it's far too sensitive and I end up "bouncing" around the course. Highest I've got so far is about 5000 ..

The blue car is controlled with Z, X and shift... much more accurate and responsive than an analogue stick pretending to be digital.

The keyboard option is much better but I think I'll have to choose that bridge level first as every race before it I came first .. bridge level I came last as I crashed the car four times in a row attempting the bridge

Exactly the same here - I picked the bridge level first last time, aced it, aced the next levels until I came to the bridge level again and got trashed.

The bridge level is easy after you got some training. Later the one with the 3 doors is more dangerous if there is a Tornado and some mustage (yellow stuff)
