Hatari on Nintendo Switch?

Postby theimann » Sat Aug 24, 2019 4:28 pm

I've been using Hatari on a Raspberry Pi, and I'm wondering whether is possible to get it to run on a Nintendo Switch. I think the Switch would be a terrific platform for ST emulation.

UAE has been ported to the Switch, among many other emulators, but TBH I have no idea how difficult it would be to port Hatari to it.

If it's any help: I would lend my Switch for development, and I'd happily gift a Switch to whoever gets it done.

If CMake and libSDL v1 or v2 are available for it, I see no reason why Hatari wouldn't build and work out of the box (10-15 years ago I ported Hatari even to Nokia's Internet tablets, which actually required some improvements to Hatari).

Retroarch has a switch version, so it includes all emulators...

Last time I checked Hatari wasn't part of the Switch RetroArch Distro, I don't think anything has changed since then.
