Pasti-Write-back software for Happy Discovery Cartridge? Is it available or when will it be available or will ever it be available? I suppose it does'nt matter as there probably are'nt that many people with a Discovery Cartridge. But I would like to give the software a go with my Discovery Cartridge. :) It's hard to wait, I just have to be patient. Fingers crossed. You can see I have Atari obsessive compulsive disorder. LOL!

It will definitely be available, both for the Discovery Cartridge and the Catweasel. Sorry for the delay and please bear with me a little more.

When I went to the Thalion reunion the other week they said they used Amiga's to write the copy protected disks for the ST (before they went off for duplication).

Must have good FDC's in them, interesting news. Speaking of FDC's where can I find two WD1772PH02-02 for the Atari ST? or what High Denisty FDC would work on the Atari ST other than the Ajax chip?

Yes, some Thalion titles can be written back on an Amiga. Same for many US releases.

I find it curious that a title like Dragon Flight, which has one of the strongest software protections, has such a simple on-disk copy protection.

It was long ago since I looked at it, but IIRC it has a serie of $F7 bytes somewhere in the gaps. The ST's FDC cannot create these gaps, but the Amiga can.

Well, actually, anyone could theoretically do. You just have to try first.

The reason the WD1772PH02-02 is mentioned a lot is that most people have found these to be more or less certain to cope with 16 MHz, where all the other ones have given various results.

Personally I wouldn't bother looking for another one until I knew I needed it for HD floppy functionality. You could be throwing away a perfectly good wdc if you remove it without even trying to see if it handles 16 MHz.

Now that I have a CW4 and an HDC, I'd sure like to try some. :)
