Well, over the course of time, members of the ST scene have appeared on the web. Where is Alien, or any members of the PP? :)
Dont suppose he is working for Climax in Southhampton is he?
Any PP members: I see Hal now and then. And yes, he still has that long hair! Going a bit thinner now, though..

Well Genie did make the official PP web page some time ago - but alas no updates for many years!

The Alien has popped up in the past - but more so in the early days of ST emulation (remember the Pacifist scroller etc??).

It would be great to see these guys having more of a presence in the ST emulation scene as they played a good part in the original atari scene. We have members of Automation and D-Bug (Shw, CJ and Ozz) here as well as ICS and of course who could forget Zippy from TMB....

At least they are lurking. From time to time I have some loose email contact with the Alien. but I don't know what he's doing.
And he prefer's not to be detected. If he shows up (on DHS or on IRC) then he is using a handle that is not Alien.
I remember getting mail from Sledgehammer too but don't know about the others.

Yeah, I seem to remember that Alien got somewhat disillusioned (for a better choice of words) in the end. Sad, but maybe understandable.

I too had brief contact with him eons ago, but lost touch through me changing ISPs and loosing e-mails etc etc.

Alien (in my honest opinion - let's not start any wars with this one :P) is one of the best ST hackers along with Vapour and a few others from other groups etc.

Vaps is a regular at Bowlers (comptuer fair in Manchester) .. and can't see the point in ST's any more .. in his words "moved on to better things"

All in the past - along with his Atari 8-bit days etc.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Sparky is still around on the web. He's more into the music scene than gaming these days. But then, it's always been music with him, even in the Pompey Pirates. :) He doesn't check these forums, but I do since I've set up the ST in my bedroom. I'm his son.

Well I'm sure you're more than qualified to pass on our thanks to all his musical efforts .. past, present and future.

Especially his Good, Bad & Ugly tune ... one of the few ST'ers to stick it out with Quartet.

Bowlers is just around the corner from me so will have to go sometime (working 5 Saturdays out of 6 doesn't help). I used to go to the car boot they had on a Sunday for all my SNES cartridges!

Yep .. Vaps = Rob. C, Was (not Was) and the multitude of other IDs he randomly used throughout Automation and Dbug days.

And I still think he wrote the best standard density menu maker on that damn fine li'l computer:

http://www.page6.org/pd_lib/pd_262.htm

It also has an early musical menu creator - I actually continued this tradition and created menus 9 and 10! Much better music than is available on this offering :)

Hmmm hello all... Many thanks to Moose for showing me this nice little forum you guys have got going here...

As Moose quite rightly pointed out I am doing the International bit overseas and a new life becon's away from this British Isle.

Elrond... please please pass on my regards to Sparky... I used to enjoy his conversations and emails we used to have regarding Juggling and crowd pleasers.. ok ok so I used to maime a few spectators with my street Juggling act but hey it's in the name of performing art so it's ok right??? right??? yeah right!!!

Latest news on the Pompey Pirates (Core) members... last year Alien got married to a great Lady and the wedding was AWESOME... even a private airshow with a stunt pilot flying 4ft off the ground while the Alien and his new bride stood a mere 20ft from each other with he flying between them...
Genie been married for a few years now and has a great little Son.. he seems to be doing real well... not sure if his pizza eating contest days are over or not though :D
YumYum.. is soon to depart for a ten month round the world sailing race and we wish him all the best... should be going down with his family to wish him well at the race start. He has been preparing for this race for over a year now... Best of luck and be safe Yum Yum.
Sledgehammer is working hard in the Computer industryu and I have had dealings with him on a professional basis and am very pleased that he is having a giggle doing what he does so well with computers.
As for me... things are cool now...

You guys have said some nice things about the PP and for that we all appreciate it... they were some great days and we all had a blast... other great crews such as Medway and Automation etc produced some wonderful characters and i hope they are all doing well too.

Again my deepest thanks go to Moose for bringing this forum to my attention... Moose knows more about me than any other living being on the planet so if you have any questions please ask Moose.

Take care

Hiya Mate.... cheers for the posting and welcome...

You will find that most of us Pompey guys are now old geezers with SERIOUS life commitments and 'other' activities which tend to steal us of our time but I will pass on your web page to the boys and you never know some of the others may visit... we all had a blast them days and when we meet up for a jar or two we all fondly remember the silliness we all got up to... and some still are

Again may I point out that Moose found your site for me and let me know... Moose is an integral part of The Juggler world and as such can answer any questions you may have about me and the group... such as the infamous hacking parties and the food hmmmm the food... hehehehehehe

Yeah, struggling on as usual! ;)

Finally put all the hacking experience to good use (and actually made a few quid for a change!) developing mod chips + firmware hacks for DVD players a few years back. Not doing anything software wise at the moment really, playing about with a car tuning chip but that's about it... any suggestions welcome. :)

I'll have to post a pic of my "Medway Boys" tattoo... that'll give you a laugh. :D

Hey Graham,
A Medway Boys Tattoo... hahahahaha would adore a piccie of that... had my tat last year and that was... wait for it... Skull and Cross bones... did toy with the idea of the PP keyring Logo but it would have looked like a prison tat...

Hey glad your hobby started paying for itself in the end. I for one moved onto Playstation's and helping people get them chipped etc... then I just happen to have had a wodge of 'personnel back-ups' made that they could purchase at a very reasonable rate... as it happened too bloody reasonable so no real funds were ever generated :? so we virtually ended up doing the playstation Pirate scene for free... hey the mark of a true Pirate of old eh???

I persued my manufacturing career in industry and now control four factories in the Pompey area with a further two on the way... and yes I have to deal with IT departments and these people telling me the horror stories of Pirates and viruses etc... ho hum if only they knew eh...
Will be moving to Canada in the new year if all goes to plan... New life in an AWESOME part of the world.

Car chipping eh... sounds cool.. I know that the nippers around Pompey pay BIG bucks for upgrade chips to free up those ponies... must admit to having fitted a TRE to my bike so now the ECU thinks she is in 5th all of the time therefore removing the restricted 1, 2nd and 3rd HP brake...

So you married? kids? divorced? seperated? budhist monk? come on mate spill the beans.

Best of luck with your future plans at 'adjusting' chips on many levels.

Can you remeber that Earls Court computer show??? and then heading back to that hotel room to dop some copying... how many of us squeezed into that piddly little room??? and who was the Barrow boy that was there... Scots lad.. nice geezer just can't remember his name. That was the show we met Dork MD at.

Take care

Goes right around my ankle and even has a wee Atari logo at the back. :D

Haha, that would've been quality... i'm covered in the damn things now, full sleeve down one arm and half the other arm + various other ones. Must have been Jim's (wizpop) bad influence back when i was a kid... dunno whether you ever saw him but he was totally covered even way back then.

Hey glad your hobby started paying for itself in the end.

Yeah we (me + Gordon (EGB from Sub humans in Turkey!)) tried writing a game for the Jaguar console after the whole ST thing was finished but Atari went tits up around that time and it never got released or even finished... so the DVD player hacking came at just the right time and i did amazingly well out of that for a few years at least. The last year or two i've not been doing much, so just hoping the next big thing software wise is gonna come along soon.

So you married? kids? divorced? seperated? budhist monk? come on mate spill the beans.

Currently single and no kids (computer geek to the end ;) )... no plans to have any kids either, at least not in this sh*thole country, maybe if i was moving somewhere decent like you are. :)

Can you remeber that Earls Court computer show???

Yeah, that was a laugh. Think the guy you've thinking of was Joe (of Jobil!) or maybe the other Joe (The President)?
