Monkey island disk 1, uncracked.

Postby thid » Thu Nov 30, 2017 7:54 pm

I’m importing my original Monkey disks to hxc disk images, However my disk1 is all blank when read by my drive. Disk 3-4 was all ok so they are now safely copied.

So does anyone have a disk image of disk one to Share with me?

It is not copyprotected, so you can convert STX images to whatever you want - ST, MSA, HxC format ...

If conversion is problem, I can convert to ST format, and then you can use it with HxC .
Famous Schrodinger's cat hypothetical experiment says that cat is dead or alive until we open box and see condition of poor animal, which deserved better logic. Cat is always in some certain state - regardless from is observer able or not to see what the state is.

I had a similar issue and it turned out that the hub had come unstuck from the magnetic media and so the disk was not actually spinning. Just the hub. I ended up with a blank disk image as well. AtariZoll advice is good. Download a disk image from Atarimania and convert it to .ST format as the disk has no copy protection on it.

Thanx for the input, it was the hub that was loose. So I grabbed the images and converted them with hxc utility.
