FS: Atari STe+AdSpeed STe & SM124

Postby dexterslab » Tue Apr 14, 2009 7:08 pm

for sale, i'm in the process of clearing out all my atari kit and will be selling various items.

First up is my 4mb atari ste, which includes an icd adspeed ste and a 68881 math co-pro and a sm124 monitor

everything is working fine, i just tested it all.

i'm prepared to split, i guess the ste itself isn't worth that much. I've been out of the atari community for years and dont know what anything is worth so please just make an offer.

i'm located in cheshire, uk. i will ship the adspeed worldwide (if sold seperate), the ste and the sm124 i can ship uk mainland or it can be collected.

here's a pic of the adspeed and the sm124 (the wires on the adspeed are for an external 8/16mhz switch

would it be better if i listed it on ebay so everyone interested can bid on it?

@Mug UK:
Wilmslow or Macclesfield depending if i'm at work or home.

@Shredder11:
yea, i read that the other day, no mention of what it might be worth though. The rest of the info i allready know, i bought and installed it in '92 and used to use it for pov-ray as it was quieter than having the TT running overnight!

Hi, I would be interested in your Atari STe 4MB machine. Is it still available and what are you looking for it. I can pay via paypal, or if you are inteested in other hardware, eg swoping for a PDA, Garmin GPS with European maps, graphics card etc I would be willing to negotiate with you. Nice setup!

Like a Mega STe 4 with an FPU!!!!! :roll:

A Mega 4 went for about £100 last week..... didn't have an FPU though.

PC Speed boards go for around £30ish.

thanks for the reply nativ... i was just about to skip the machine and just ebay the adspeed

so with that in mind, and considering the case of the STe is not in great condition, there's no shielding and the top case isn't screwed down. but it does have a high density disk drive ready for a HD disk controller.

We're maybe looking about £80 excluding the monitor?

this is how gembench rates it:

thanks to everyone who have replied and helped out and to those who have PM'ed me about this.

it's all ended up in a bit of a muddle, mainly due to me not knowing what to ask for it all :oops: . So where's what i'll do so it's fair for everyone (and me!)...

i am going to list the items on ebay shortly so you can all have a chance of buying/bidding etc. I will post the links up. The SM124 will be listed seperatly from the STe/AdSpeed. So i wont be accepting offers via the forum.

i'm very sorry to mess everyone about, but i think ebay is the most sensible option.

Just been reading the info from a webpage about the CPU here:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/68000/Motorola-MC68HC000FN16.html

So could the CPU on the AdSpeed support upto 16MB of RAM? I know that in the past when I have read about 16MB upgrades, software was not able to see all of the RAM or 14MB at most. I'm not sure how this particular upgrade would fare though.

Shame that I could not piggy back this interface on top of my existing TUS IDEal IDE interface which is currently socketed over my ST CPU.... :(

AFAIK the memory addressing would be indentical to the original CPU

the AdSpeed board has now been listed on ebay. Note i have made provision for the winning buyer to also buy the STE as well. The monitor will be listed shortly as well.

FYI if any of you UK bidders do win, the price for the rest of the STE is an additional £15

£106!!! 8O

I was tempted by this but my gut instinct told me it would go for crazy money and it did. Anyway well done Dexter! :cheers: I hope you are going to reinvest the money wisely, i.e. on your existing Atari setup? :angel:
