Let's create a Freeone IRC channel for Atari-forum?

Hi,

There is already an IRC Channel at ##Atari. Would we make a new one specially for ##atari-forum?

Please an admin to create ##atari-forum, and let's populate !!

If you havent IRSSI or mIRC, you can use firefox with webirc: http://webchat.freenode.net/
You then simply have to enter the captcha and enter the channel, i.e.:

##atari-forum

Hmm... this is news to me, but that would be real cool a Forum Chat. I think it would be nice for us Forum members to be able to communicate live via chat.

The classic IRC is #atariscne (note the lower case) which is linked to on the old IRCNet.

For the sake of not splitting the community, I would not recommend to open more other channels on other networks. The classic channel only has 5-10 active chatters per day with a couple of lurkers. Don't spread the thin Atari force even more....

I'd have to agree, I'd rather see all of us concentrated in just a couple of places...

you would be advised to use freenode like everyone in the open source community.

So which channel & network is everyone using? I got Xchat so it's no problem for me as I prefer it to web based chat. Seriously, I do miss Atari ST chat rooms...

My statement above stays valid. If I ever have the desire to IRC, it will be on IRCNet like it was done 10 years ago. There are all my friends and channels.

I tried two of those.... I think

One group had Skeexiz ? in and the other loads of people, but no one was talking.....

Don't forget there is an Atari-forum facebook page as well! Which probably has Chat also!

IRCnet is indeed a good choice. Is it as secured as freenode?

If you have Ubuntu and hatari, - being fan of Linux Ubuntu, I recommend you #hatari on the server : freenode

btw, you remember magic pocket? what a great game it was! I found back the floppy, and played a lot with my ST (was raining). I liked the music.
