It's a host issue. I've seen this happen occasionally and then sometimes the site is down completely for a minute or two.

We share the server with other Hostpapa customers so anyone's site could be responsible for crashing SQL or apache. Or it could simply be that they are hosting too many customers on this server. In any case, if it gets much worse then I'll raise a support ticket.

Thanks for letting us know!

I get that at random times during the day, normally every couple of days I noticed it, only normally down for a moment. Faster server CPU needed me thinks ;)

I think the forum is running very well considering it's hosted on a 520 ST with a megafile 30 and a 14.4 kbps modem. :D

blasphemy!

I am sure the dell will be quite good if I ever get it running.. other wise it's an interesting plant stand.... got some PCI x extra scsi board for it.. and a couple of 15k spin Scsi drives available to use... picked it up off freecycle... apparently I can fit a dual xeon to it? as for the Dual 1Ghz p3... well it was a nice idea at the time...

with any luck I might be bagging a 56k modem...

8O Good to hear the ATARI FORUM actually runs on an Atari!

Oddly, I get this error too, and when I use it, it must be night/morning hours in EU.
Oh yeah, forgot that those are the peak times for forums

Don't want to hijack this thread, but my question seems to fit...

I'm having troubles to login on my CT63/CTPCI with the latest Netsurf build 68020. It seems to get stuck getting no reply from the server (server time-out according to terminal messages). Anyone having similar issues?

yes, i do. can't use it. ct63/ctpci plus netsurf. Other non-login website seems ok.
Oddly, I get the same behaviour on an airport free internet kiosk.

The connection has timed out

The server at www.atari-forum.com is taking too long to respond.

At the time of posting the forum is running very slow. Whoever hosts the site (owner) should get a stats view on the server ? At least I do, normally says CPU is running around 3%, or when one of my php scripts gets stuck in a loop 25% + Also SQL issues, I know my server host gets huge amount of SQL traffic. normally its the amount of hits per second which causes the slowdowns rather than raw cpu power. I guess its down to hard drive access on the server, IE needs faster array and more ram 8)

Today after upgrading Netsurf to the latest version as published by m0n0 I am able to login to this website again and now typing this message on my Falcon. Great stuff.

Don't know whether it because my connection keeps dropping, but one moment I am logged in... in the middle of a post for example then go to post and I am logged out?

I am getting "no response error" frequently from this site as well.
I attribute it to high internet usage over the Indian ocean where my packet get dropped on the way & back from EU.
I assume server is in EU.

Yes - I noticed that too. We'll maintain a log of these outages and then once we have a few, I'll log it with the host provider.
