I'm still alive :-)

Postby Klapauzius » Tue Sep 27, 2011 3:58 pm

Hiya guys, :)

hope you're all well!

As you might have noticed I kinda lost interest in Atari/hacking/patching/etc. (are there any games left at all nowadays that need fixing? )

Sorry for some PMs that I left unanswered, but I think I didn't log in here for more than a year or so?

Erm, well .... that's it for now - I'll try and drop in here every now and then.

Cheers

The tears are welling in my eyes again, I need twenty big buckets to catch them in, twenty pretty girls to carry them down, twenty deep holes to bury them in.

Welcome back - your skills have been missed :)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

We've been missing you, I hope you could visit here more often. By the way we at Atarimania linked to your great HD patches from the game pages last week so would be nice to see some more in the future if that's possible :)

BTW If you happen to have time (and motivation), there was a review claiming that ZZKJ's Power Drift conversion uses blitter code on ST when available. Would be great if you or someone could confirm if it's true or not.

Ah well, I don't like fish that much....

Wait, that's a game?

Oh my, I guess I've forgotten almost everything.

Seriously, all my Atari's are packed away in the attic. I had planned to set up a small dedicated Atari room using a small dining room in our house that isn't used any more. Still have to do that, as I ain't got room in my regular 'study' to set up all the machines and monitors anymore (4 Ataris + PC).
I was also planning to get a CT60/63 into a separate Falcon, and *perhaps* try my luck with CT60/63 patching (tough nut, I know ;-) ). But I missed an offer for a CT60 by another forum member, due to me not visiting here anymore.

So I really don't know right now whether I'll get active again this autumn/winter - or not.

Well, let's see if I can bring myself to stop watching movies on my new TV set and do something useful instead.

Yo Klaz!

You can always go for a bit of emulation to save space!

I'd like 'Slapfight' 1985 Taito!

It came with the +3 there is an ST Ratboy version and I think it works under Backward!

I have been playing the Mame version! and have almost got off level 1! :)

Nice to see you back!

Cheers

Hi Marakatti,

thanks for the kind words! :)

Yes, Power Drift is actually using the blitter.
This is easy to check, btw: fire up Steem debug version go to the Options menu and check "Stop on Blitter".
Steem will notify you once the Blitter has finished an operation.

See, I even remembered that...

good to hear from you again!
Have you managed to sort out your game boxes in the meantime?

I'll admit that 2011 was nothing special yet for me, as regards movies.
Last great movie I've seen was "Watchmen", but that was from 2009!

Deliverance. I think we were talking about that game a couple years ago. I'm sure there's more too! You really did make the best, most compatible patches.

+1

And the CTRL+D implementation make them very desktop friendly too.
STE: Desktopper case, IDE interface, UltraSatan (8GB + 512Mb) + HXC floppy emulator. Plus some STE's/STFM's

I want to thanks you again for the special version of Defender of The Crown you gave me, I have a lot of fun with it :D

For my part the last great movie I appreciate was Mary Poppins

I hope you'll find a new project that will give you motivation and satisfaction, and give us pleasure

+1 from me as well - the best patches/cracks ever on St, even if there are no fancy intros. 8)

+3 for the cracks!

and another would be the Squash 'em up 'Exterminator'

Intros are nice when done properly.. pp and mb!

the Spectrum 512 intros were a nice idea but executed poorly!
