http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xez4o1ujOPI

The Tomorrow People I was still in single digits, but the theme scares me to death still. (He says typing from behind the desk chair...)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb4nMFHXxro&feature=related

UFO I was still in single digits, but this happens to be a fave.

What I like YouTube is for those programmes on the edge of memory like.......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI3faPS0uR8 Mary, Mungo & Midge

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIUqczDUPBw&feature=related Hector's House

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFAFiiCMb_8 Poggle's Wood

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTcStBUW2Ao Noggin the Nod

I am going to stop because I could go on and on.........

Hector's House!!!???? HECTOR's bloody HOUSE!!!! :D

But yes, The Tomorrow People, that's well scary.

There's one show that I remember but I can't remember what it's called. There was like a red glowing coil in it, which did things.... That's been stuck in my mind for years.

Trumpton : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKhMP2r4XGk

The Flumps : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1mMQtk3IUE

Chorlton and The Wheelies : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_isj1c3mag (brilliant music)

Alot of these things though, it does make you seriously wonder quite what they were taking.

The Banana Splits : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtD4mn9CeH4

Sesame Street # 12 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gGWrnm-B44 (I still have nightmares about #12!!)

Sesame Street : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZIvgQ9ik48&

I really just can't believe that we were forced to watch Sesame Street every single day throughout the summer holidays, at 9.30am. That or Huckleberry Finn.

Huckleberry Finn : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCRiLyL0koc (I loved that so much)

Mysterious Cities of Gold : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGrQGH1gQD8

Jamie and The Magic Torch : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-B_FQKHQDYk (Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww)

Nice! I've got the DVD set of Ulysses 31, although I only watched halfway through and kinda got distracted... it's good though :)

Dogtanian was excellent - the voice guy for that character was also the voice of Liquid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series BTW, as well as a few anime roles like Bleach. And Leonardo and Rocksteady from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rigadon in Around the World with Willy Fog, remember that??

Mysterious Cities of Gold was an absolute classic as well. Used to watch that before going to school whenever possible.

I recently downloaded all of Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley - it's weird to watch them as an adult - and even more weird the things they merrily came out with back in the day.. Like Windy Miller getting pissed up on his homebrew cider - which is 'very strong' apparently - and crashing out next to his granary.

I remember 'Whiz Kids' - with the dog called 'Rabies'.. 8O

Wizbit is another good one.. :)

This is before he started living under bridges and canal locks and turning up dead in a pool of frozen puke one winter morning. :P

Hah! Just reminded me of a skit from 'Robot Chicken' that I saw last night.

They did 'Battle of the Planets' and the team members were taking the piss out of Tiny for being a fat lazy bastard - so he works out, loses a ton of weight and starts kicking ass. Princess and Keyop start sucking up to him, so Mark and Jason get jealous.

Mark's all : "we gotta do something about this - are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Jason goes "uh-huh".

It cuts to back on the ship - Mark walks into Tiny's room with a huge plate of dessert going "Hey Tiny old buddy, look what I got for ya!" - but Jason is already in there beating him to death.

Mark goes: "Uh - so..Wasn't thinking what you were thinking.."

(Yes, I know - lame to describe it - couldn't find a video though... :( )

Mmmm, I dunno. There was just a coil thing in it, which glowed when it did mysterious things. I may have imagined it.

Hey if you all want to be freaked out though...

very creepy, disturbing children's cartoon, banned from TV

The laser was a glass helix on a wooden plinth. It was about the size of a shoe box.

Don't forget Grange Hill - someone on Youtube who also belongs to various GH sites has begun posting up some of the older series:-

Series 9 - Zammo and the drugs - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=Grange+Hill+series+9&aq=f

Series 10 and part of Season 11 are on now too.

Cheers,

Rich

I used to watch most of these(On a B & W telly no less) , I had almost forgotten battle of the planets, having watched the clip though I found myself transported back to my old living room complete with dogy swirly carpet and wallpaer in strange brown shades....

Loved terrorhawks & Dogtanian until they repeated it 900 times.

Oh right. Chocky.

That was a book by John Wyndham that was televised on Childrens ITV, and then they wrote a couple of made-for-TV sequels for it 'Chocky's Children' and 'Chocky's Challenge' respectively.

We talked about it a bit here.
