After failing to make it to JagFest I would also like to do an event if there's gonna be one anywhere nearby.

The only Atari one that's in the UK is the Jagfest. It's down in Rochester, Kent next year and has a Jaguar element as well as a lot of Atari people visiting (mostly from Cheshunt Computer Club).
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Edit: Nope - it'll be on the 30th June, venue TBC.

Dammit dammit dammit....

You lot finally come down for a meeting in my home county of Kent and what happens? Its for when I'm on my bloody honeymoon!!!!

I can't say to my new bride, 2 days after the wedding, "sorry, we gotta head back early, I need to hang out with my Atari geek friends..."

*sigh* :(

NiceGuy, chin up mate - you're getting married! That's better than an Atari meet!

On second thoughts...

In all seriousness, all the best with the wedding and preparations. I got married last year and I have to say it was one of the best days of my life. I don't mean to get all romatic and gushing, but that's the truth.

Congratulations (in advance)!

Errrrrrm, :) without being too unkind I would have to say that the members of the Computer Club in question are slightly less teddy-bear lucking and a tad more "intelligent" looking than this Get-Along-Gang (although the main man (Mug's twin bro ;) ) is a rather cuddly sort of chap), yet surprisingly they are all just as happy looking in a room full of Jaguars! :D
I wonder who the teddy with "M" on his cardigan represents?? and I am sure there was a Lady at the last JF whos name began with "D" 8O.....

Actually I don't necessarily have a problem with the distance of this one, after all it is nice to venture from this simple country life up here down into the big bad City and get to drive on tarmac instead of cobbles every now and then ;)

I will consider your offer of a lift in Mug's car though Stylus ;) , especially if you also offered me a place at Unseen's house to stop over. :)

Me happy now :D

No offence intended! Just wanted to know what the Chestnut club was. Google gave no joy (again).

Edit: Montgomery Moose would be a good new avatar for Mug anyway!

Actually I never intended to imply that you was being unkind, as for the Jagfest, here is the official site: http://www.jagfest.org/
Ignore my rambling :) (except the link).

Most of them don't use anything *other* than Atari's - that includes browsing, email and photo editing.

None taken as I ain't a member of the group but they do take their Atari stuff seriously. They're a good bunch of blokes and always interested in names from the past (as I found out at JagFest '05).

They've probably buried her / interred her in a nursing home judging by the ages of the blokes I've met :)

i seem to remember cheshunt computer group, they were based out near hertfordshire somewhere, one of there members was or is derryck or derek crocker, if memory serves me right

I only remember them because they were constantly bought up when i used to attend the LACE (london atari conmputer enthusiasts) meetings in essex (grays/sth. ockenden) and eventually in sw and central london around 1996-8 period, unfortunately one of the main members, peter mattock fell seriously ill...i hope he's better, he was a wizard with hardware repairs...as he fixed my ste when i had one

I think cheshunt computer group dealt with mostly atari stuff (though i was told they did have members with non atari equipment as well

I thought that they were a real cool group as i was told they had a few asm/ml programmers there (nifty or what)
