Shazz wrote:Marcer, as you splited V8 and Empire, did you split the Reps between first A-Team, le Groupe Hofa and Shogun as first independent crews ?
And did you include STCS cracks into the bladerunners ?
And I'm sure that Tsunoo and Boss are really missing, between 85 and 88, with 42 Crew, Copy Service Stuttgart and Ford Perfect, they released a lot of cracks (more than 40 each I'm sure...)
My "outstanding fact" was to crack Dungeon Master. Else I cracked about 10 games under the name 42-Crew france as "Tsunoo" was too wellkown in those times, and I had the chance to know the Ubisoft importer guy [Shazz : which explains that all ubisoft french craps from those times were cracked by Tsunoo]
I can tell you that the best cracker was 42-Crew : Martin Backschat [shazz : you know FastCopy...] and I can claim it there was nobody better (and probably B.O.S.S would claim it too)
But, as a french cracker, in those times, I was quite alone and the protections were quite easy (excluding Dungeon Master I cracked under the name 42-Crew). So I was a good cracker but not better than the others. But for sure I was the best for the surrounding part : the communication [Shazz : getting the games before they should be released, swapping,...]. Obviously, a cracker who only cracks in his bedroom... it's useless. That's why I was well appreciated and known: I never pretented to be a God or smarter than anybody (as they were on Apple II)

So I lost a lot of disks but the text is still there
It's quite funny for me to read this doc now... and it will give an idea of how in the end of the eighties the cracks were spread in Paris... really few UK things (only one Medway boys CD !), lotsa french and german cracks..
And there are some strange things, like Was (not was) in STCS, DMA in the reps, or Equinox as the Rebels
