NetHack Atari Port Being Depreciated

Postby fmh » Wed May 02, 2018 12:19 pm

I've only tried it once a long time ago. Just a heads up to anyone interested in maintaining the port.

This would be very sad because Atari NetHack version was the very first one with a GUI, and its tile-set was actually adapted by upstream NetHack.

Btw. Atari GUI was written by Warwick Allison (using his own C++ GEM toolkit), who's part of current NetHack DevTeam:

(I remember him working at some point for TrollTech, which developed the cross-platforms Qt C++ GUI toolkit. TrollTech was later bought by Nokia and then sold to Digia. I don't know what Warwick does nowadays, but I guess it doesn't anymore involve Ataris. :-))

Sad. I'd try to help with it if I knew how to program! Looks like they're dropping Amiga support as well.
