Jinks with improved scroll

Postby AtariZoll » Thu Apr 16, 2015 12:48 pm

Since chances to dig out proper image of this game soon are minimal, I release alpha test versions now, with problematic map 2 data. Other 3 maps are OK.

JINSTEFL.ZIP
Floppy image - only for STE . 512KB RAM min.

JINSTEHA.ZIP
For hard disk run. STE, TT, Falcon . Min RAM 1MB .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmOZmm1d3mM&feature=youtu.be

Should work with all hard disk drivers. Please look at bottom part of play screen, where SCORE is displayed - it should be stable, without shaking left-right. If not, please report, with some specs. of used config.

There is mouse controlled version under work at moment, will post soon ...

Famous Schrodinger's cat hypothetical experiment says that cat is dead or alive until we open box and see condition of poor animal, which deserved better logic. Cat is always in some certain state - regardless from is observer able or not to see what the state is.

Interesting :)
How did the original version scroll? Like Giana Sisters?
I will try this when the map 2 thing is solved.

Original scrolls in 16px steps, what is very jerky and annoying. Because that, and as this seemed as easier case (regular TOS executable) I decided to do STE HW scroll update. During it, I found that there are some bugs. Level 2 data files are most likely messed up by crackers, and currently no good source for this game. So, Stefan Jl. , if want to play this with proper level 2, please help in finding original :D

Nice enhancement! I've read about the game back in the days, but haven't seen it until now!

Thanx Marcer, but same problem there too. I will start thread about games without good source in Requests section.
