So, although Linux Mint is my primary OS, I have to use Windows OS (mostly 7 or 10 in both flavor - 32/64bit) for some software I use on daily basis.
But, recently I have a weird problem with file associations...
Let me explain....
I use software which don't have any installation, write nothing on registry, one EXE, no DLL's, OCX..no nothing, you can run it from any place on drive - real portable:-)
Developed from pro IT company in mid 90's, but company exist no more.
It's a Sinclair QL emulator and he work with specific file extension (mdv) which represent something like ST/MSA on Atari.
Program have file browser screen with some options - select file with MDV extensions and parameters (ROM,RAM, Toolkits etc..).
Program have pretty much símilar philosophy as Tos2Win.
If I add MDV file assotiations to software really interesting things are happening - without any visible or logical reason, on some real machines/VM works fine - double click run directly QL program in desired environment.
But...more often, after double click i receive the file browser for MDV selection...so, no direct run..????
How can it be?
Of course I can select every time MDV file, but...what's the point of file associations...?
Does anyone have experience with this odd behaviour?
