Logo vote

Postby Mug UK » Wed Feb 20, 2008 6:28 pm

I've tried to give a brief description where possible .. you can choose up to 3 and this will filter down the favourites into a separate poll.

Let me know if I've missed any though and I'll add them to the poll.

HOWEVER as a caveat - if the source code for "multiple logos but at random" can be found then this poll will be null & void :) You might even be able to express a preference (although I'm guessing at this part as I'm a noob @ PHP coding!)
Having sold 99.9% of my 1300+ collection of originals, I'm taking a bit of a back seat on the forum. I'll still do the front-of-house admin tasks as and when they're required but, for now, I'm enjoying my Xbox 360 time too much :)

My one wasn't there to because it was way too teeny tiny made to fit the original space of that phpBB logo, oh, and it was poo ;)

There are some decent logos, but I'm not voting because I want to vote for them all & have them randomly appear. You all get my virtual vote.

Looks like Retrogamers Ste badge got the vote  Can someone make the change? That phpBB logo just looks so depressing...

OK if that's what the public want .. will get it sorted tonight when back from work. It'll be up there until the switching logo code can be added by Silver Surfer.

Definitely one for Silver Surfer to do .. I emailed him last week about putting RG's logo up for now but as of yet he's hibernating I guess :)

Well its been ages and no change...
I for one would at least like to see more emphasis on the "atari-forum" bit than the tedious "phpBB creating communities" bit which is the first thing users read here...
Logos or not, I for one would like to see something that gives this place some sort of unique feel to it instead of it being "just another forum" whgich it isn't..
That's my honest opinion :|

I agree!

Come one guys, it can't be that hard to replace a simple small GIF with something better. It can be a static Atari Forum thing for a start and you can still do PHP magic later.
We want a unique AF feel back 8)

I'll email him again .. I don't have FTP access to upload new files into the back-end of the forum so moaning to me about it, ain't going to get anything done faster :)

Guys, the new logo is great - but it has some transparent pixels in it & some white pixels on both left & right sides.

I was bored so I fixed it in the attached image, if needed...

I think rotating through different logos is a cool idea

Great to see the new logo in place - although the logo cycling thought is an idea stillas touted several times above...

One thing as I'm in a picky mood (blame the wife and kids making me like it today lol) is the edges don't blend into the background, so there's a jagged white line.

Otherwise excellent as I say and one logo which got my vote :)

Thanks for the kind words, to be modest I didn't really design anything as such, I just re-arranged things in an obvious way using Photoshop
I wonder how the bad pixels got there in the first place?
I can't see them in my original post, or even in Unseen's reduced and transparentificated one a while later... :?

Will let Silver Surfer know about the problems (and the fix). He said he'd sort it out whilst he was away but I'll remind him that it's not perfect.
