The two extra Ramchips in the Sockets are the right ones?

256kbx16 or 512kbx8 !?!

If I knew how to tell... Manufacturers seem to have agreed on never printing the exact memory size on chips and instead use cryptic numbers. :-)

The chips say:
HY514260B
JC-70
9525A KOREA
Atari Mega STE, 4MB, 68881 FPU, internal UltraSatan, TOS 2.06, Nova adapter + ATI Mach32 (+ Gainward ET4000AX), Midex+, NetUSBee
Atari 1040STFM, 1mb, TOS 1.02, SatanDisk
Atari 520STE, 4mb, TOS switcher with 1.62/2.06, IDE internal HDD, CosmosEx
Atari 130XE, SIO2SD

Seems to be 256kbx16.

What should be the correct size for this card?

Are the original two Ramchips and the two extra all the same?

Look at the Datasheets, there are FPM or EDO ...

No they are not the same.

This is what I have found about the socketed chips: https://www.digchip.com/datasheets/parts/datasheet/204/HY514260B.php

If I read correctly they are FPM.

The soldered chips are two HM514170JP8. Couldn't find a data sheet for them but I believe they are also FPM..

OK, but for what purpose should I research the RAM? Can you be more specific?

Idek thinks it's a timing issue with the DAC.

Ram is fine. I test my cards in a old PC ISA Pentium Mainboard with the ATI Testutil under MSDOS.

Yes, I haven't found anything that says they are different types of RAM chips. Unfortunately, I don't have any such old PC to test the card with. I'm stuck with the Atari :-)

I'm happy the card supports 1024x768 with a good picture so I can run Cubase with more screen estate. But it would of course be nice to be able to use the highest resolution as well, with that lovely pixel perfect sharpness.

I have a very similar card, but it has the BFN DAC (I guess this is 135MHz).

When I find some time, I will test my card with the drivers again. Maybe there is a general problem with the DAC programming. Right now, I am very busy with other cards and setups.

Alright, it will be done when it will be done. At least my card is usable as it is right now.

Good news everyone: I was able to add full support for the Mach64 card with STG1702 DAC. Currently only for the the Falcon, since I am working on the new Falcon drivers. Is there anybody with a Mach64/STG1702 card willing to test the drivers?

I discovered a slight problem with the Falcon/ET4000 driver. The 16 color resolutions are not cache save, i.e. when the cache is active and a 16 color resolution is selected, the driver won't work correctly. By investigating this further, I discovered that this is also the case for the MegaSTE drivers.
