Zonk runs under Steem but not Kozmic

Postby Dave Henniker » Wed Oct 19, 2011 1:39 pm

I've just installed Steem and am happy to say that the software I wrote runs fine. :D The program I'm referring to is Zonk which you can download from my website at the foot of this page: http://www.henniker.org.uk/html/_rendered0.htm as well as having a look at a video of my Atari ST running off a SCSI hard disk.

Unfortunately Kozmic won't run (tried 3 different versions of TOS) and quits each time with error 13. :(

Naturally I'd be very grateful for any help with this, or indeed, with converting Zonk to an .st image that I can load into SToid on my Samsung Galaxy Tab. http://eddensoft.android.informer.com/

i remember these programs from back in time! wasn't one on an ST Format coverdisk?

anyway why don't you post the Kozmic .prg here and i'm sure someone will be able to trace why it's not working

cheers

OK, I'll have to go to my PC to do that. Thanks for writing.

I could have done this on my galaxy tab but thought better of it.

Attached are the following:

KOZ4MEGA.ZIP containing KOZMIC_4.PRG
KOZ4XTRA.ZIP containing subfolders KOZ_HELP, LOADS_OF.PIX, ZONK
READ_ME.txt original read_me.now file renamed

It'd be great to see Kozmic running under emulation.
I sold my UK101 but kept my Atari.

Best wishes, Dave Henniker

You could also try hatari. Steem isn't really very good with applications, which is really strange actually..

Dave i'll take a look at this but a quick look at your readme suggests you've uploaded the 'fixed' for MegaST version that you say 'may or may not work on ST/E'.. could this not be the root of your problem? how did you fix it? also are we missing files refered to in the read.me? title screen.mbk, reg file etc etc..

so you have the original source still? you might get results recompiling the source with a totally fixed version of STOS..

just some quick thoughts anyhow.. :)

If the program is done with STOS, it might need an STE fix.
